Goku

    Race:  Saiyan
 
    Goku is the main character of Dragon Ball Z.  He is a saiyan, and the first in a long time to transform into the legendary Super Saiyan.  He is the strongest fighter on earth, and saves the planet a lot of times.  He is willing to sacrifice his life and sometimes surprises even Piccolo.  He gave his life to allow Piccolo to use the all mighty Special Beam Cannon on Radditz.  In The World's Strongest, he gives it his all and whacks the evil doctor with his most powerful attack, the spirit bomb.  Goku beats Nappa and Vegeta, with a little help from Gohan, Yadjerobe and Krillan.  In The Tree of Might, he doesn't give up and send the evil Turles into another dimension.   Goku is truly a god among men, or a saiyan among men!  hahaha.

    Race:  ½ Saiyan ½ Homo Sapien (Maybe Neanderthals, Krillan sure acts like it a lot)!

    Gohan is a warrior of exceptional powers, but he just doesn't wanna fight.  In the beginning of the series, he is a cowardly fool, but as the great Mr. Piccolo trains him, he grows stronger.  In the beginning of the training, Gohan had trouble surviving alone in the wild.  Piccolo had a little trouble with Gohan too, as Gohan turned into a real big monkey, a power a saiyans tail gives them, twice.  During Piccolo's wild ride, Gohan befriended two dinos, one who was eaten by the other.  A saber-toothed tiger and a group of orphans.  He spars with Piccolo during the day, and bothers him with his emotions during night.  When the saiyans arrive, however, Gohan has learned to control his powers, but not to control his fear.  This costs the life of Piccolo :-(, Kame-Sama and Tein.  Although Vegeta probably would've killed them all if Gohan had blasted Nappa, his terror still cost them dearly.  Piccolo, who had grown feelings for Gohan, took a fatal hit for him.  How heroic!  Gohan makes up for panicking by helping his papa fight Vegeta and volunteer to go to Namek and search for the Dragon Balls.  On Namek, he fights Recoome long enough for Goku to come and save the day once again.  Gohan also frees Piccolo from the bio-technology that was controlling his mind in The World's Strongest.  And defeats Garlic Jr. where Goku, Kame, Krillan and Piccolo  :-o were helpless.  His power rises greatly when there is something unjust happening, so don't get on this little kids bad side!  hahaha
