Fishcamp. This is one of the last things that I did on my project up in the woods. Way back when we were tearing out the walls upstairs, we took out the wall above the stairs (that’s where the paddle railing came in) but that left some sheet rock covering the beam that supported the second floor above the stairwell. Rex had scribbled a sign in pencil that said “Fish Camp” with a few “born again” fish on it. As I thought about it more, I decided that it needed a proper something there. I had a piece of Mahogany that I had saved from the Vanity Table and Mirror in the guest rest room, so one day I started carving on it. This is want I was able to get to come out of it. The piece just covered the space (and it was a good thing because the beam got a big hole when we pulled electrical wiring though the downstairs hall ceiling).

It was my Christmas gift to the family.
