It was a rough 200 miles from Fern Town to New Benlen. We could make it in about Eight days and have an extra day of rest before the tournament. We knew A.J. couldn't get in the tournament and there were no Gyms anywhere near. We figured he would have to sit and watch while we battled. A.J. knew he wasn't going to be able to battle and he took it fairly well other than his slight grouchyness. Not much happened in between Fern Town and New Benlen. There was one event though. A.J. and Bryan were wondering ahead while I dragged behind. While I was alone I spotted a Gloom. I sent out my Ivysaur to weaken the Gloom. It was a fairly easy bout for Ivysaur, all it had to do was use it's tackle attack a few times. As soon as the Gloom was weak enough I dug a Pokeball out of my pocket and caught Gloom. While all of this was happening a plan was forming inside my head. On the seventh day while we were getting ready for bed I got out the Pokeball with Gloom in it. Earlier Bryan had made a smart remark about my Scyther, which I knew was a joke but still made me pretty mad. So as Bryan and A.J. tried to get to sleep I work out the details of y prank. I would put the Gloom in Bryans Sleeping bag! If you didn't already know Gloom releases a horrible smell. So when I was sure Bryan and A.J. were asleep I slipped out of my sleeping bag and over to Bryans. I then let Gloom out and escorted him into Bryan's sleeping bag. Next I went to my own bag and tried to fall asleep. Amazingly Bryan didn't notice anything until the morning. I woke up to a scream and Bryan scrambling in his Sleeping bag. "What is that SMEEELLLLL!!!!" he exclaimed as I laughed my head off. He jumped out of the bag while holding his nose. He proceeded to look in his bag and found the Gloom. He saw me laughing and came over. He promptly kicked me (it was a play kick). By now A.J. was laughing too. I told Bryan what I had done; he wasn't too impressed (A.J. was though). I put Gloom back in his Pokeball because I was starting to smell him too. Man did it smell bad!
