Thyme So after you do all for Tibet what country will be next? I think you should help the poor little babies in those nasty orphanages.
MIKE D We are trying to get together one day in June. It'll be a day where we can do concerts all over the world to raise awareness.
Dania Mike... when people meet you for the first time, do they try to challenge you?
MIKE D Lately, there has been a rash of people trying to battle me on the streets of NY. I think that people need to chill out and enjoy their food more.
Chad With all these action to help Tibet, what has become of the fight for Freedom since you started backing up Tibet?
MIKE D It is hard to say. It's made a difference in awareness. I think that infinitely there is more awareness, of Tibet and human rights. One of the things that Is important is influence and consciousness.
autosaida Could you please fill us in about the situation in Tibet and maybe about your efforts?
MIKE D Tibet is a completely occupied territory. They are not allowed to practice their religion, and culture. We, as a band are trying to bring attention on the situation.
Chad What do you think is going to happen to Tibet? Will they ever be free?
MIKE D I do think that they will be free. It is going to take a lot of focused and consolidated efforts to bring this about.
Juanito Are any of the songs on the new album going to have proceeds benefiting Milarepa or other Tibetan causes similar to how Boddhisattva Vow & Shambala did on IC?
MIKE D We are not sure yet. We are still in the process of making the record. I am sure that we will have proceeds to benefit other causes.
veeena Are there gonna be any more freedom concerts in the near future?
MIKE D Definitely in June. We are planning one day of world wide synchronized concerts.
Chad Personally I have noticed increased awareness by the media towards Tibet. How much do you accredit to the actions of MCA and the band as a whole?
MIKE D I think that Yauch has done a lot, and will continue to do so. But I think as a whole, collective work has brought this attention from the media
Giggz I don't understand man. There are so many countries in the world that need more HELP then TIBET. So why are you guys so hooked up on TIBET ?
MIKE D There are many places, and many people who need help. Tibet is focused on non-violence and the mind. It's not just helping Tibet so Tibet can help itself. It's helping Tibet so that Tibet can help the rest of the world.
Adroc If I adopt a monk will you tell us the name and release date of the new LP?
MIKE D I am unable to read into the future. You could adopt a gaggle of monks and I still will not be able to read into the future.
Adroc Is Ricky Powell claiming East or West?
MIKE D I think that Ricky is claiming strictly East.
Giggz Are you against CHINA just because they are a communist nation or just because they are occupying TIBET ?
MIKE D We are not against China or the Chinese people. We are against the actions of the Chinese government and its overall record of Human rights. It's all very humanitarian.
cOoKiPuSs Would you ever consider coming back to Hong Kong once its back in china's hands?
MIKE D Yes, we would come back to Hong Kong. The idea isn't to avoid china, or its people. It's to modify change on the government.
Dania Have you ever met the Dalai Lama? If so, what influence did it have on you?
MIKE D I have met His Holiness once. It wasn't just meeting him, it was hearing him speak on several occasions. On that topic, I learned a lot about compassion, and that our world revolves around compassion.
