Chapter 6

"Mom, Dad, can we talk a minute?" I said as I walked into their room where they were unpacking.

"Sure sweety what is it?" My mom said.

"Where did you 2 go?" I asked.

"We were at your grandparent's house. I wrote it all in the note."

"No you didn't. Do you mind telling me the truth? Josh and I both picked up on it. None of our grandparents live out in Texas. They live in Vegas. So you can start talking at anytime now." I said waiting patently for a reply.

"Ok, you got us. We went down to Cancun for a few days." My dad replied.

"Hold on let me get this straight. You took a vacation out of nowhere leaving me a note that you went to see grandpa cause he needed heart surgery and I needed to watch Emily and Josh? Do you realize how sick that is lying about someone's health. That is just disgusting." I yelled. I had nothing to do now except leave so that's what I did.

My final weeks home my parents and I didn't talk much mostly because I would just ignore anything they had to say to me. I spent some time with my little sister taking her out to a movie, lunch, and let her have her first stab at bowling. My brother and I spent some time just hanging out at the mall and talking. I wouldn't see my siblings for probably another year thanks to being out in Paris.

The day before I had to leave Lance and I went to a party in the early afternoon. It was a back to school party. Everyone that was still in school went to the University nearby. This was my final chance to hang out with my friends and have fun. After partying for 3 hours it was now 4 pm and I had to go. I worked my way around the room telling everyone goodbye and to remember to write.

The rest of the day I spent with Lance. We also went over to my house and got all my stuff and loaded it into the trunk of his car. I took a long time saying goodbye to Josh and Emily. As mad as I was I also was upset at saying goodbye to my parents once more but this was all their fault anyways. They tried to apologize and I just told them it was 'ok' even though it wasn't. The offered to take me to the airport tomorrow morning but I told them I already had my way there. I said goodbye and left with Lance to his house where I spent the night crying in his arms not wanting to leave for another year.

"It'll be ok. We'll be together again soon enough. Plus don't forget I'll see you because we're going to be over in Europe for a month promoting so you know that's at least 2 days I'm going to be in your area."

"Two days, what about the othere 300 somedays until I come home?" I sobbed.

"Listen, we'll be together. I promise you. You trust me don't you."

"Of course I do but.."

"Then you know I mean it when I say we'll be together soon." he said followed by a kiss.

"Alright I believe you"

We didn't get much sleep that night. We stayed up talking the entire night but at 6 am we got in the car and took the 15 minute drive to the airport. When we arrived we had time until the final boarding call so we sat by the gate and took a few moments as I started crying again.

"Oh before I forget." he said reaching down by his chair and pulled out a rather large bag. "Here are those videos for you to watch and some other things but don't look until after the plane takes off."

"Ok, thanks." I said followed by a moment of silence. "And Lance."

"Yea?"

"Thanks for always being there for me. No matter if you're right here next to me or thousands of miles apart you've always been there. I Love You so much." I said as a tear ran down my cheek.

"I love you too Jen." he replied embrassing me.

"Final boarding call for flight 749 to Paris." A female voice said over the intercom system.

"Well I guess this is it." I said.

"You'll be fine. Don't forget the bag." he reminded me.

We took a minute out for one long last kiss that would have to hold us over for a long time. We pulled apart and I cried more and more. I had to leave now though.

"I love you."

"I love you too, I'll talk to you soon." he said. I smiled and picked up the bag and my carry on and gave the lady my ticket and walked down the terminal not without looking back at least 10 times.

I finally reached my seat which was by the window. I looked out of it and could see the window where Lance and I had been. I saw him standing there watching as we began to take off he waved and even though I knew couldn't see me I waved back and then put my hand down. I rested my head on the back of the seat and closed my eyes when I realized I was slightly shaking from my upset. I looked at the people next to me who were newly weds on their way to their honeymoon in Paris. If only my life could've been that way right now.

The seatbelt light came off and so I took my seatbelt off then looked down beside my seat and saw the bag. I opened it and there was a single red rose with a card taped to it. I opened the envelope and the first thing to happen was a picture fell out of Lance and I. I took a moment to look at it then read the card.

Jen, I know you're upset but like I promised you we will be together soon. Time will fly by. I don't want you to sit down and watch these tapes all at once. On each tape I wrote a time you should watch it and then I know what you're doing at that moment and you know I am thinking about you, even though I am all the time. Give me a call the moment you get in the door so I know you got there with no problem. I won't be able to talk to you for 2 days after that though because we have to go do some promotional things and the times are really messed up. Call me soon. I love you. Love Always, Lance

I closed the card and put it back in the envelope and looked at the five tapes he had there for me. I had 2 to watch when I got home, 2 the following day, and 1 the next. The flight was going to be another boring, long one but what could I do about it.
