Wow, guys! U didn't have to buy me the dress and shoes, u knwo I have money!! Yah, we know, but we wanted to treat our favorite fan!!! Kylie, Nick said. I have a confession. When I first heard about this whole interview thing, I figured u'd be some obsessed fan! I didn't know if I'd come out of the interview alive! But now I'm glad u won he said as he bent down and gave me a kiss. Oh, Nick that's so sweet Brian said in a girly high pitched voice. B shut up! U know u thought the same thing! Ok, so mabey I did. But like Nick said, I'm glad we went ahead and decided to be part of the contest! So am I, I said. I turned around just in time to see my old boyfriend, Karmen, walk out of Macy's. Ohmigod, I said. What, Nick looked at me worridly. Karmen's here. Karmen? Karmen who? My old boyfriend. He was very possieve. I finally got up enough nerve to break up with him. That's how I got this.... I said as I lifted up my shirt to reveal a small circle wound. Ky, what happened? He shot me with a 22! Kylie, oh mi gosh! He shot u cuz u broke up with him? Brian said. Yeppers! I'm tellin u he was crazy! He was put in jail. He must have paroled out! Stupid idiot! Kylie, don't get to abusive with ur words dear. Brian, I make it a point not to cuss! And so shuld u! Kylie, u shuld know that I do. I was just bein sarcastic! I'm gonna beat his ass! Nick said Nick, no! It's ok! Really! Mabey he didn't even see me! Ok, but if he ever tries to hurt u again, I'll kill him!

Thank god I finally found her. This time she's gonna die! Last time I messed up! But not this time. Mabey I'll even kill the boyfriend and friend she's with. Now, where is Karrissa? I'll probably have to kill her off 2! This time though, I'll have to use a bigger gun. Kylie's a strong girl. It'll have to kill her with one shot!
Chapter 8
Kylie, what else has he done to u? Nick asked. Well, I said, one nite he beat me up pretty badly cuz I wuldn't give him any. That was 3 months into our relationship. I got shot after the 5th month. Why didn't u end it sooner? Brian asked. I was 2 scared of what he mite do 2 me and my family. He threatened my whole families life! Even Karrissas'! When I finally had the courage to tell him it was over, he went ballistic. Sayin I was the only girl he ever really really loved. I didn't believe him. He was from a really really rich family! He always got everything he wanted. He told me all he wanted was me and I told him I was the only he wanted that he wuld never have. That's when he shot me! I began to burst out in tears. By this time we were back at Brian and Nick's house. Kylie, come here baby. Nick said as he took me into his arms. Karmen is never gonna hurt u again, I promise baby. Then the phone rang. Hello, I said not wanting to really answer it incase it was Karmen. Kylie? A woman's voice said. Yah? It's me! Kassidy! Oh hey, Kass! Sup? Not a whole lot u? Same. I'm in New York for a while and wanted to know if u and Nick and A.J. and Kar wanted to go to luch. Yah, sure. But how did u knwo about me and Nick? And Kar and A.J.? Oh, ur mom told me! Ok. When do u wanna go? How bout tomorrow at 11:30 at the BackPorch Cafe? Sounds good. Hey is Brian seein anyone? Hold on. Hey B? Yah, he said from the bathroom. R u seein anyone? NO, why? Cuz u're goin out with Kassidy tomorrow with me and Nick and AJ and Kar, k? Yah. No, Kass, I'll bring him tomorrow. K, Bye. With that I hung up the phone. Ky, whose ur friend? Her name is Kassidy. She's 22. She was our neighbor in Kentucky. She's really pretty and sweet. She went 2 school to become a pediatrician. What does she look like? Well, here's her pic. It's from a few years ago. I pulled her senior pic out of my wallet. Oh my gosh! SHE'S GORGEOUS! Brian said. She's not like a crazed fan or anything is she? Nope, U culd barely call her a fan! She hardly has any time 2 do anything with her internship and all! That's cool. Guys, I'm pooped. I think I'm gonna go on to bed. Nite Nick, nite Bri. Nite Kylie. Kylie, I come see u before I go to bed, k? Nick siad. Yah, that's fine. So, B, tell me the truth. What do u think of her? Nick, I think she's great. I just hope she doesn't get us killed with Karmen and all! Brian! Don't even say that! Nothing is gonna happen! And if something does, we're gonna be there for Kylie, rite? Yah, I guess so. Nick, just listen. This Karmen dude culd be a real physco! I'm serious. Just don't do things out in public places without one of the body guards or where u know thier will be security. ok? Yah, B. Sure. Nick was gettin up to go up to Kylies room when he heard someone scream. Oh my god. Kylie!!! Kylie!!! R u ok??? Kylie! Answer me!? Kylie?? OH MY GOD, KYLIE! Nick screamed as he burst into tears.
Chapter 9
Nick, nick, is she.....Oh my god! Nick, is she alive? Brian go call an Ambulance. Tell them to hurry! Kylie, Kylie, u gotta hang in there for me.. Come on baby. Nick sobbed as he held Kylie in his arms. Kylie had ben shot once in the bak of the head. Damnit Kylie keep breathing. Karmen must've had a silencer or his gun. Kylie, Kylie. The ambulance is on the way. Nick, I said barely audible. Kylie, yah. Karmen's still in my room............ Nick, the ambulance is on it's way. Brian, Karmen's still in here somewhere.

Crap, she know's I'm still in here. I guess I'll just have to shoot precious little Nicky now.
What? Brian screamed. Karmen is still here somewhere. He culd shoot us rite now. Well lets go then! Bri, we can't move Kylie. It wuld kill her! NO! OK, then just be careful. Listen, here come the sirens, I'll go get the paramedics. Be careful. After Brian was gone, Karmen made sure the silencer was on again. I can't kill him, he's worth too much money. I'll just hurt him. Karmen pulled the gun up and aimed at Nicks shoulder. He pulled the trigger. Nick let out a staggering scream as Karmen went through the window. Nick, R.. u... o..k..? Kylie managed to get out. Yah, Ky, I'm fine. Just stay with me and I'll be fine. Nick, the paramedics...OH MY GOD! Nick! R u ok?????? Yah, B. I'm fine. Let them tend to Kylie first. It just grazed my shoulder. He's not that good of an aim, unless he's up close I guess. Nick? One of the paramedics siad. The young lady has requested that both of u ride in the ambulance. Brian, please get ahold of Karrissa? I believe that's what the lady siad. Ok, I will as soon as we get to the hospital.

Brian, she's been in surgery for over 4 hours. Where's A.J. and Karrissa? I don't know! I called AJ's and they weren't there. Lemme try the house again. Brian got his cell phone out and dialed the number. He let it ring 10 times. Mabey thier at Kev's? I didn't even think about callin Kev's and D'S! I'm so retarded! Brian dialed Kevin's number. Hello? siad a groggy voice. Kev, it's me. R u Bone, Karrissa and D there? Yah, why? Cuz Kylie and Nick have been shot! OH MY GOD! R they ok? Nick is, but Kylie is still in surgery. Where r u? Parkton Hospital, floor 10. We'll be there in a jiffy! Bye. Thier on there way here. It shuldn't be long. Brian, what am I gonna do if I loose her? I can't loose her. I love her. And, there's something she doesn't know about me. What Nick? The guy that she was talkin about livin by in Tampa is me. Look. Nick pulled out a pic of him and a girl about the same age and handed it to Brian. Who is this Nick? Turn it over and read the names. He turned it over and it said. Nick Carter age 7, Kylie Ann Dermont age 5. Nick, that's u and Kylie isn't it? Yeppers, B, it is. I haven't told her. It was like gettin my very first best friend bak when I realized who she was. Then when I realized her and Karrissa and Cheryl were sisters, it was almost like findin my family. I can't loose her now! Not after just findin her! No way! If she dies, a huge part of me will go with her! Nick, She's not gonna die. I promise. Nick was in tears. So was Brian. Mr. Carter, Mr. Littrell? Yes? I'm Dr. Hanoford. I prefromed Kylie's surgery. I have good and bad news. What is it? Kylie is gonna live. She is a very very lucky girl. Thank god, Brian whisperd. The bad news is she may not remember u. She will get all of her memories bak, but it mite not be rite away. She may never walk again either. But, we think that with another surgery she will. The door swung open and in ran Kevin, Howie, Aj and Karrissa. All out of breath of course. Nick is she ok? Dr. Hanoford was just finishing up. Guys, u can see her in a bout 2 hours. But only 2 of u at a time please. With that he turned around and walked out the door. Nick? Is she ok? Karrissa asked in between sobs. For now she is. She may never walk again and she probably won't remember us. But in a few days she'll have complete memory back. Nick, do u wanna go see her first? Yah, B. I'll go see her 4 a few then u guys can come in. Im gonna call Kassidy, Brian said. I imagine she'll wanna know. Nick walked out of the waiting room door and down the hall. He walked through the ICU doors and up to the Nurses Station. He asked the nurse. Culd u please tell me what room Kylie is in? Yes, Mr. Carter. She is in room 223. She is due to wake up anytime now. U can go ahead and go in though. Ok. Thank u. Nick said as he proceeded to the room. Before he even walked into the room he culd hear all the machines she was hooked up to. As he walked into the room he culd barely make Kylie out. Kylie, baby, r u awake yet? He said to her lifeless looking body. Oh Kylie, I'm so sorry. So soooo sooo sorry. Nick, I managed to say, it's ok. I'm gonna be ok.
Chapter 10
Kylie? R u awake. Yah Nick I'm here. So, u do remember me? Yah, of course! Why wuld I not? Dr. Hanoford said u mite loose all ur memories but gain them bak eventually. Yah, I'm here Nick! I know what happened and who u r and stuff. Don't worry. Kylie, Nick siad, in between tears, I thought I had lost u forever! Nick began to cry harder. Nick, shhh, I'd never leave u. U've brought so much into my life in the past few weeks that we've known each other. Nick, I love u! I love u too Kylie. I'm gonna go so everyone else can come in and see u, ok? Yah, don't worry about me. Besides the humongo head ache I have, I'm great! Nick kissed Kylie once more on her head and turned and walked out. She's ok, she's really ok, Nick said aloud. He walked down the hall and back to the waiting room. Karrissa, A.J, she wants to see u guys next. How is she? Karrissa asked She's good. She's awake. And she seems to know who everyone is! That's good, come on AJ, lets go see her. After they left, Brian looked at Nick and said, Nick tell me the truth, how is she. Yah, Kevin said, Is she really ok? Yea, guys. She knew who I was and what happened and she knew who everyone was and where she was and so forth. Just then the door opened and Kassidy walked in. Nick, Kevin, Brian? I'm Kassidy, Kylie's friend. How is she? She's doing very well, Nick said calmly. What exactly happened? Kassidy asked? Well..... Nick began. A.J. and Karrissa walked in about the time Nick began tellin the story to Kassidy. Karrissa was cryin uncontrollably. Karrissa, what wrong? Brian, she doesn't remember me? Nick said she did. Now she doesn't. She knew who A.J. was and she asked him who his girlfriend was! Oh, Karr come here. She may be loosing her memory since she is waking up. It's ok. In a few days, she'll remember who u r. I promise. Brian gave Karrissa a quick hug and a kiss on her head as him and Kevin started out the door to see her. That's basically what happened Karrissa heard Nick tell another girl. Dang, u poor people! How's ur shoulder Nick? Karrissa asked It's better Karrissa. Kassidy, do u and Karrissa know each other? Yah, how r u Karr? I'm fine, how about u Kass? A bit shaken, but other than that. Nick, Kylie didn't remember me! What's wrong? I thought u said she knew everyone. Oh, Karrissa, I'm so sorry! She must be loosin things as she becomes more awake. She knew who A.J. was, but not me! Don't worry about it! She'll be ok in a few days.... Nick, I'm sorry but I think I'm gonna go home for a while. Ok, do u want me to take u? No, I mean I think I'm gonna go back to Kentucky. A.J, can we talk? Yah, sure Karrissa. What is it? A.J., u know I love u with all my heart rite? Yah. Well, I'm not sure if I'm cut out to live the Backstreet Boys life. I never realized how hard it was. I don't wanna break things off between us, I just need some time by myself. That's fine Karrissa. I totally understand. Our lives can be really hectic at times. U just take all the time u need. Thanks for understandin A.J. No prob baby. A.J. said as he leaned in to kiss Karrissa for the last time. As he watched her walk out of the room he began to cry. A.J., why did she leave, Nick asked. She said she culdn't handle bein a Backstreet Boy. She's goin back to Kentucky for a while. Nick, what am I gonna do? The best thing that ever happened to me just walked out of my life! Bone, give her some time, With everything that's happened, she's gotta be drained. Mabey some time away from us is exactly what she needs, ok? Yah, Nick. Thanks. Anytime, A.J. I just don't understand A.J. said as he walked out of the wating room. Nick, Brian said, I think we're all gonna go back to my place for the nite. R u gonna go, or stay here? I think I'm gonna stay here with Kylie. They told me I culd stay in her room since it'z private. So, I think I'm gonna if she'll let me. If not, I'll probably come on home. Ok, well, call us if anything happens. Kevin said. Ok, and guys thanks a lot for bein here I said. No prob Nick. Will u call me if they catch Karmen? Yah, Frack, I'll call ya. Thankx Frick. Seeyun's tomorrow. Seeya guys.
Chapter 11
~~~2 weeks later~~~
Kylie was out of the hospital and completely had her memory back. The had called Karrissa millions of time's, but she still refused to come back to Orlando. The major US tour was starting in a month. Guys, Nick said. I need to have a talk with all of u since Kylie isn't here. As u all know, me and Kylie r still very serious. And with Karmen begin gone for over 3 weeks, I really don't see him coming back. But, I also don't want to leave Kylie here by herself, so if it's ok with Jive and the rest of the management, can Kylie come on tour with us?? Sure, Brian said, I think Kylie wuld be a great addition to the tour. Everyone else seemed to agree except for Kevin. Nick, U know I like Kylie, right? Yah, bro, I know. I just don't know how the fans will react to a girl on tour. I mean, we managed to keep the thing with Karmen low,and ur realationship with her hasn't even been made public yet! See, Kev, that's where my plan comes in. I say we make her an assistant to Denise or Fatima. Noone wuld suspect anything, and when he physical and mental wounds r throughly healed, I'll announce to the public that I'm seein Kylie. Ite Nick. I'll go for it. But I sure hope u know what you're doin! Don't worry Kevin, I know exactly what I'm doin! Nick jumped up from the couch and took off tword Kylie's room. When he got there, the door was shut and he culd hear her crying softly. Without even knocking, he went in. Kylie, baby, wus wrong? Nick, Nick, Nick.............. Ky, what's wrong? Nick began to panic. Is Karmen back? NO, Nick, Kassidy just called me and Nick, Karrissa committed suicide last nite!!! Oh baby, come here. It'll be ok, Kylie. No, Nick, no it won't! She was my BEST friend. And now she's gone. Our lives were fine until we had to win that stupid contest and meet u guys and fall in love! Nick, it's never gonna be ok! Kylie jumped off of her bed and ran out the door. Nick just sat there dumbfounded. He heard Brian ask her where she was going, but she didn't reply. Oh my god, Nick thought, what if I loose her forever..........
Chapter 12
Nick got up from the bed and slowly made his way down stairs where Brian, Kevin, Howie and AJ were waiting. Nick, is that how Kylie reacted to u telling her she was goin on tour with us? AJ said laughing. No, J. I've got some bad new's guys. What? Brian said. For he was also beginning to panic. Guys, I'm sorry, Nick began, but last night Karrissa committed suicide. AJ broke down on the spot. No, no, no, no, no,........ Didn't she know she was the best thing that ever happened to me? J, I'm soooo sorry. Howie said. Why Nick? Why did she do it? I don't know, Kassidy called Kylie and told her. I got to Kylie's room and she was setting on her bed crying. I don't know. From what I gathered Kassidy and her had just gotten off the phone. Kassidy had gone back to Kentucky with Karrissa for her support. Kylie didn't explain anything, except that Rissa committed suicide. Guys, I'm gonna go find Kylie, cuz there's no tellin what culd happen. Ok, Nick. Be careful. AJ, Brian said as Nick walked out the door, I'll call Kassidy's and find out more for u, ok? Thanks B. AJ had calmed down somewhat, but he was still very panicy. Why why why why why...... was all he culd get out. She was the best thing that ever happened to me and now she's gone. Oh my god, she's really gone. She said she'd be back, but she IS gone. She's never coming back, never. Kevin culd hear Brian in the kitchen on the phone, he must've got a hold of Kass.
A few minutes later, Brian came back into the living room. Guys I have more bad news. What culd possibly be worse? Aj said through tears Guys, Rissa didn't committ suicide. She was murdered. She was what? Kevin said She was murdered at home in Lexington by Karmen. By Karmen? Yah, B said, it turns out that her and Karmen were in a conspirciy to kill off Kylie. Kevin was beginning to get angry. U mean to tell me we culd've lost our lives too? Yah, that was the plan. Karrissa was gonna kill off Kylie and slowly kill us off too. But she fell in love with u, Bone. When Karmen found this out, he went directly after Kylie. When Rissa found out she left and went home, she didn't wanna die. She didn't know that Karmen wuld be waiting for her. But he was and he left a note for Kass tellin her. The police have the note, but they have no idea where Karmen is. We've gotta find Nick and Kylie and get out of the country. B-Rok, we have the MAJOR US tour comin up! Wuld u rather sing and die or live and sing for years to come? He yelled I don't know about u guys but I'm votin we postpone the tour until he's caught! I'm with u B, Kevin siad. So am I, AJ said. It'z bad enough losin Rissa, but to loose u guys to? There's no way I'm gonna risk it! I'm with AJ, Howie said. I'm sure Nick and Kylie will be too. Now come on we gotta go find them! Ok, let's spilt up into two groups of two, cuz they're both seperated. That'z one thing we don't need! Brian said. Kevin, come with me. Howie u and J, r together, k? Ok, u guys got the phones? Yah, now lets head out Brian said as he grabbed a jacket off his couch.
