Kris and i were eating dinner. In a few days we have to go home for Winter break. Nick and AJ are gonna come up for Christman. Tonight we have a concert that I have a solo in, On My Own.
"Are ya gonna eat that brownie?" Kris asked
"No" I replied "I'm waaaaaaaaay to excited"
"OK" Kris replied scarfing it down
After dinner, we walked back to our room. I jiggled the door handel and it was unlocked. "Krista" i moaned
"What" she replied
"You didn't lock the door" I stepped in
"Sorry Tess" She replied. I notieced a small note with a rose next to it. I opened the note

"OOOOOO" Krista said teasing me "Someone's got a crush"
"But WHo?" I asked
"Hmmm....Maybe Andy" She suggested. Andy was a quiet boy, brown hair and brown eyes. He wsas captain of the soccer team. He's one of my good friends.
"Maybe your rght" I replied peering at the note. ANyway we got dressed in jean shorts and a white t-shirt (that was the dress code) and headed off to the Chorus room on the other side of campus.
The chorus room is blue with 4 risers with black chairs on them. When I walked in, Mr McMahon pulled me aside. he 's in his middle 30's with blond hair and blue eyes. And let me tell ya, shorts do not look good on him.
"Hi Tess" Mr. McMahon greeted me
"Hi Mr. McMahon" I said :"What's up?"
"I just wanted to tell you that when I give the cue, you come in front of the piano to your mark ok?"
"Ok" I replied
"great" Mr. McMahon patted me on the shoulder "Good Luck". I went to my seat when I saw Samantha come over to me
"Hey Tess" she gave me a hug. She has long black hair and green eyes.
"Hi Sam" I replied
"I just wanted to wish you good luck" She told me
"Thanks" I replied as she walked back to her spot in the alto section.
"Listen People" Mr. McMahon yellled "Let's do some warm ups"
About 15 minetes later we were lead to the autotorim. There was many people there, especially parents and students. We took our places on the risers as Mr. McMahon spoke "Welcome to our Winter concert. Now we have alot of songs for you tonight. The first one is entitlen "On My Own" wihich a solo is sung by Tessa Miller". They all clapped. He gave me the cue and I came down. He started to play. I took a deep breath.
"On My Own, pretending he's beside me". I looked over to see Mr.McMahon's face light up. "All Alone I walk with him till morning. Without him, I feel his arms around me. And when I olose my way I close my eyes and he has found me". I went back up to my place and everyone clapped and cheered.
"You did great" kris hispered to me
"Thanks" I whispered back.
It's the afterparty and everyone was congradulating me. "Excuse me, Ms. Miller"
"Yes" I replied turning to a short, pudgy man with brown thinning hair and brown eyes.
"May we speak in private?" he asked. I nooded and he lead me to the hallway "I'm Toby Kelm, Senior VP of Jive records" I suddenlt got interested in what this man had to say
"Hello Mr. Kelm" I shook his hand
"I was givin a tip by one of our clients to come hear you tonight. You are an excellent singer. You have such a strong voice. I was hoping you'd like to discuss about a record being made"
"Are you kidding?" I replied "Of course I'd be interested" I shook his hand "Whait...who did you get a tip from?"
"I told you tonight is your lucky nite" I heard someone say behind me. It was Nick. I ran to him and gave him a hug
"SO that's why you left the door unlocked, huh Kris?" I asked Kris who was in a kiss with AJ.
"Yup" she replied
"Here's my number" Mr. Kelm gave me a piece of paper. "Now I've got to run, I have a meeting with Britney Spears" with that, he left
"Oh Nick" I cried. I gave him a kiss
