Wind swept across the golden fields moving the tall grass in its path.
How she loved the feel of the tall grass against her body.
This place is where she called home, the only place she had ever known.
He was here in this place…….far but close at hand.
To leave this home she must leave him behind.
She fought the demons of her soul that tore her apart inside.
The day she knew would come, but why did it have to come so soon.
As her eyes closed to remember him for a moment longer.
To remember the embrace of his arms, the feel of his lips, the touch of his hands as he so gently stroked her raven hair.
Why does she still feel this need for him? Why does she feel herself being drawn into him at the slightest thought?
He haunts her dreams, her thoughts, and her soul.
If only she could turn back the hands of time, to breathe him in once more.
Then she would be content to leave him behind, knowing that he truly loved her once.
And he would be content knowing she was truly happy in the life she had chosen.
As she smiles to herself, she knows the answer does not lie in time travel but in the depths of her soul.
He told her once not to wait for him, to move on, to be happy and to find the love he always wanted to give to her.
His face that is so fresh in her mind soon begins to fade, his touch that still burns her arms cools with the wind, and his kiss that lingers on her lips is soon replaced by another.
Wind swept across the golden fields moving the tall grass in it’s path.
How she loved the feel of the tall grass against her body.
This place is where she called home, the only place she’d ever known.
