I am a big fan of the Atlanta Braves.I come by it naturally.
My dad has been following the Braves since they were a Milwaukee team.
That is where my dad's parents are from.
I'm afraid we're just a bunch of transplanted cheese heads.
That's why I don't like to be bothered while the Green Bay Packers are playing!
Although I do go on-line sometimes and follow the game in a pop-up window!

Kodiak quake shakes Southcentral Alaska

July 28: A late night earthquake shook up Southern Alaska but left no injuries.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center reported that a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit after 11 p.m. Friday night.

The quake was centered 70 miles east of King Salmon and shook residents nearly 245 miles away in Anchorage. The shocks were felt by people all over Southcentral Alaska but no injuries of damages have been reported.

We were getting ready for bed at 11:20 when we felt it here at home.

Are you coming for a visit?

There are supposed to be airfare wars this summer, so keep an eye out for a great deal. We saw really cheap tickets at travelocity just the other night, $149 round-trip ATL to ANC, but we missed them. We are really looking forward to visitors! Charles came for a visit during early Spring last year and again this winter. He was able to ski both times he came up.
Crystal visited last summer and we had a blast! We had so much fun that she has come up to spend the winter with us. She has been learning web design and has a new site at www.crysanne.com Cliff's dad made his first visit to Alaska the beggining of June. It had been two years since we had seen him. He had a great time and we really enjoyed his visit. He was able to get quite a few photo's of Alaskan wildlife while he was here. He plans on coming back up next summer.

Aunt Pauline and Uncle Cecil are home for the holidays. Aunt Ruby and Uncle Richard headed back to Florida early this year, we will miss them :( They plan on coming back up in spring. Keith is off work from the railroad for the winter. He may go traveling. Karen and Jeremy had a baby sister for Kassidy, her name is Tia Paulina. She looks just like Kassidy did at the same age.

Cody, Cheyenne and Calvin have been enjoying the winter. Cody went skiing for the first time and it came easy for him. They went fishing for salmon for the first time last summer. They have also learned how to identify many plants and berries.

During the summer the was sun was up nearly 18 hours each day. Now it is only up for about six. We do get to enjoy special treats because of the darkness. We stayed up one night watching a meteor shower. The northern lights have been especially active this year and we have seen some phenomenal displays.

You can find details on Alaskan events and happenings on the Alaska page. There is so much to see and do here....we love it.
