Symbolized by the Lyre, she was the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne and is one of the nine Muses of Greek mythology. She was the muse of dance and dramatic chorus. Her name means 'Delight of Dancing' and she later came to be associated with lyric poetry and dance.
