Will da Thrill gets a phone call. The call was from longtime buddy and rumored relative Mr.Respect. Mr.Respect who had just went to a house show put on by the WWF in Miami was inspired and wanted to start a backyard fed of some sorts. He needed wrestlers and knowing Will's love for wrestling he offers him a spot and some big time fueds. Will accepts the offer...
Backyard National Wrestling started around early 1997 as a simple idea. At first off it was like a joke and was originally called Bloody Nuts Wrestling. The idea was to have some fun and run around and eat shit. The 1st show was September 13th, 1997. It had Mr.Respect sporting his Respect 3:16 shirt taking on Robert Titties. Respect won and went on to win the belt. Then Will da Thrill won a 10 man battle royal to begin a U.S Title reign. After the taping was done it was all worth it.
The finish product was funny and pretty
decent. Of course after the drug scandals and
wrestlers who really didnt care, BNW went
through the mass firing stage. Almost half of
the BNW roster was fired due to the lack of
seriousness and maturity. There would be
interference in every match and it was total
chaos.
As of now the owner was always been Daniel
Martinez, who wrestled as
Mr.Respect.
Then around May of 1998 Mr.Respect met 2 indivisuals that would restart the fire of his promotion. Hardride and Firestorm. This started the BNW at highschool with matches that have been classics. During this Mr.Respect and Hardride match was watched by over 25 people.
After the school launched another new talent, David Hardcore decided to join, who had changed the style of BNW forever.
BNW came back to the backyard in the early summer and it got better. Respect was the man on the mic; cutting promos and wrestling in the hottest fued in backyard history with David Hardcore. Firestorm was getting off the top rope. Hardride was doing the mat style and Will was quickly becoming the best backyard wrestler in Florida.
During this time BNW would do the regualr tapings with David and Respect usually being the main fued. This ran through 1998 November when Mr.Respect was bored with the product. After a hot deal with channel 7's Deco Drive to get on-air, Respect took a slight break off the bussiness.
BNW returned in Janauary 99 with the biggest man in the business, Zobbo. After Zobbo killed Firestorm, everyone was impressed. Then Mr.Respect and Will da Thrill joined up to become the 'International Superstars'. This all started off the new BNW
2/5/99 It was the show that changed BNW history. Mr.Respect and David Hardcore wrestled in the most brutal match in BNW history. It ended with David winning the World Title for the 1st time. It had Ghetto Al getting a punctured lung. It had Firestorm going off the shed into concrete. It had Will spraining his neck but still going on in the match. This would be the last show they would wrestle on mattrasses.
In March 99 BNW starts working on the ring. It takes them over 4 and a half months to finish, and over $500 in money. Cuban Pete does most of the work and becomes the most respected man backstage.
As BNW was climbing their way back up the ladder, they found the talented camera man and commentator, Ringmaster...who started off BNW with its era of multimedia. Soon he discovered his talent wasn't outside the ring, but inside the ring.
June 16, 199 BNW returns with the most exciting show in wrestling: BNW HIGHSPOTS. On one specific Highspots on August 27, Highroller faught in his only match in BNW against Will da Thrill, and showed off his top-rope moonsault and technical skills. Many were inspired by the high-flying stunts and his technical skills. His match started off a new era, in which BNW got more technical and more high-flying.
One of the most inspired guys that attended that show was the loco fool himself El Pepe. He decided to join BNW as a wrestler, and not knowing it, he probably became the best BNW wrestler of the year...showing off dangerous high-flying stunts and also was known for changing the Frogsplash stage...in which everyone did Frogsplashes from the top-rope.
Another fan that attended that show, was the ring-constructing genius, Virus. He has become respected in the ring, showing off high-flying stunts and power moves as well. But he has been greatly respected for fixing many of the ring's problems and especially the ropes. You are appreciated here in BNW Virus, and it will hurt BNW if you leave...
BNW is grateful that none of its wrestlers have gotten severely hurt since we all beleive in God who protects us as we perform this crazy shit. In fact, this crazy shit has lead to popularity on the internet, and to such schools as Rockway Middle and Southwest Senior High.
