Chapter Seven

“So, are you excited?” Brian asked Gwen half way through the flight.

“Yeah, sure.” Gwen said trying to see what Kevin was doing.

Brian had thought that she was interested in Kevin and now he was almost sure of it. He was interested in her too, but Kevin had been so lonely lately and Gwen seemed to have the same problem, they are meant for eachother. Brian smiled at the thought.

“Hey I’m going to go get AJ, I see some girls over there that he might like to meet.” Brian commented grinning.

“Oh, ok.” Gwen replied smiling at him.

Brian made his way over to AJ and motioned to the girls at the back of the plane. AJ immediately grinned and put on his sunglasses and fixed his hat. After his preening ritual they headed to the back of the plane.

Gwen sat in her seat for a while just looking out the window, before she felt a hand on her shoulder.

“Hey.” Kevin said softly.

“Hi.” Gwen murmured back, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

“How are you holding up?” Kevin asked touching her arm.

“I’m doing ok I guess, a little nervous but other than that I’m ok.” Gwen answered looking up at him, a faint smile on her face.

“You’ll do great, I promise.” Kevin whispered taking her hand in his.

Gwen smiled and nodded her head, giving his hand a little squeeze.

“So, should you call your parents and tell them the great news?” Kevin asked.

Gwen turned a shade paler. “Well, I can’t, because, well, they aren’t home right now…” she muttered looking out the window again.

“OK…” Kevin replied looking at her curiously.

Gwen sighed and closed her eyes. She didn’t think that this whole record thing was going to work out, but she had to take a chance. ‘What’s going to happen if they need to talk to my parents at all? What am I going to tell them?’ she thought.

“Hey, you ok?” Kevin asked with worried eyes, “You look kind of stressed out.”

Gwen took a deep breath and sighed, she could feel tears rolling down her cheeks.

“I don’t know…I’m just so tired and confused…” she cried softly.

“Shhhh, it’s ok, it’s going to be ok.” Kevin put his arm around her and held her.

Gwen cried softly into his chest, while he rocked her back and forth, trying his best to comfort her. Eventually she fell asleep in his arms.

~the landing~

Gwen was awakened by a harsh bump and the shaking of the plane as it landed.

“Hey there sleepy head.” Kevin whispered in her ear, his arms still around her.

“Hey, are we landing?” Gwen asked rubbing her eyes.

“Yep, we’re now in the wonderful state of Florida.” He murmured smiling.

Gwen smiled back as Kevin slowly let go of her so that she could go get her things.

~Florida~

“Alright gang, you know the drill, let’s try to make it out of here alive!” One of the security guards exclaimed sarcastically.

Everyone laughed and started to head off the plane.

“BACKSTREET BOYS! BACKSTREET BOYS!” A massive group of girls screamed as they stepped into the terminal.

“Everyone keep together!” The security guard told them as they jogged to the baggage claim, quickly they grabbed their things and headed for the door.

All of the sudden the group seemed to be too much for the security and they guys and Gwen were completely mobbed.

Gwen was pushed to into the crowd of young girls as they made their way towards the boys.

“Kevin!” Gwen cried waving her hands, trying to get his attention.

Kevin looked around and saw Gwen in the middle of the mob as he was being pushed out the front door by the security guards.

“Hey!” He yelled at one of the security guards in panic, “You need to get Gwen out of there, she’s coming with us!”

“OK! Just go, I’ll bring her back to your house! That’s where you guys are going to be right?”

“Right! Now go get her!” Kevin called running out the door towards a van.

The security guard took a deep breath and started to make his way through the crowd towards Gwen.
