“Age…Nick needs to grow up.” Ash said. “I don’t know…I got sick of it all” “Besides I never see him anymore!”
“What exactly did he do?” AJ asked. “I mean…you two are…were so in love.”
“Well…I do love it when he holds me…that’s not the point though!” Ash said. "I swear Nick and I got into a fight…he yelled at me, I yelled at him.” Then yesterday I saw him with one of BJ’s friends. They were acting more than friendly. So I walked up to him, told him off, then broke up with him.”
“Ashleigh!” AJ said. “He’s a guy he can’t help it.”
“So your saying it’s my fault?” Ashleigh accused. “You’re on Nick’s side too!”
“Ash, that’s not what he’s saying.” Ashleigh’s older brother, Tyler said. “He’s saying guys can be pig headed…I know you hurt a lot…but still, if you love this guy, give him slack.”
“Everybody is against me.” Ashleigh said. “I swear they are.”
“Ash, we all love you.” Dan, Ash’s other older brother said. “Especially Nick what’s his name.”
“Carter” AJ said
“That’s it!” Dan said. “I heard you broke up.” “Brooke’s little sister told Brooke. Little Kirsten was very excited.”
“Dan, Kirsten is 17 years old. Only 3 years younger than me and 4 years younger than Nicky…I mean Nick.” Ashleigh said.
“Ash, Nick will never go for Kirsten.” AJ said. “I know what his type is.” “I mean I know how he rates girls.”
“Would he give…Tara Reid a perfect 10?” Dan asked.
“I would” Ty said.
“Oh yea! He would and I would.” AJ answered.
“He has good taste.” Dan said. “Except, why would he go for little Ashleigh?”
“I’m not little!” Ashleigh Insisted
“Whatever you say Ashleigh.” Tyler said
“I’m not!” Ash said.
“Dan! Brooke and Kirsten are here!” Denise yelled.
“Brooke?” Dan asked. “Why did Kirsten come?”
“Umm…she wanted to talk to AJ.” Brooke said. “Lets go”
“Okay…” Dan said. “Be nice Ash.”
“Ashleigh!” They heard a familiar voice yell.
“Oh, hey Rachel.” Ash said.
“Why the…excuse my language, is Kirsten here?” Rachel asked. “Still after Nick? My baby wont bring you to him so you can forget about that. Right baby?”
“Right Rachel.” AJ agreed.
“Ugh! You people disguised me!” Kirsten said.
“Oh, Kirsten…little Kirsten…” Ashleigh said.
“Yes?” Kirsten asked, expectantly. “I’m waiting…”
“Ashleigh Elizabeth!” Matt yelled. “Nick is on the phone.”
“What Nick?” Ash asked, when she picked up the up phone.
“Hey Ash.” She heard Nick say.
“Nick…I don’t have anything I want to say to you.” Ash said.
“Ashleigh, can’t we at least be friends?” Nick asked. “I mean…I love you and I don’t want to lose you. But, you’re a very important person in my life…I still need you in it. I mean…I know it’ll be awkward at times…but still.”
“Nick…I might be able to be friends with you in a few weeks…maybe even months…but definitely not right now…I’m not ready.” Ash said. “I’ll call you when I am.”
“Ashleigh…I’ll never give up. I love you too much.” Nick said, as Ashleigh hung up.
“If he calls again, I’m either busy or not home. Got it?” Ash asked.
“Ashleigh, I will not lie to one of my friends.” AJ said.
“Fine…I’ll take my things and move out.” Ash said. “Dan, can I come live with you for awhile?”
“Sure Ash” Dan said. “I’m leaving tonight though.”
“Okay, I’ll pack, grab my car, tell dad, and we can leave.” Ash said.
“Ash, you have to help out around the house then.” Dan said
“Of course.” Ash said.
