Most of the children's jaws were still wide open, only Jubilee had recovered enough to speak. "You, the one who's always telling us to be careful, the self appointed Queen of safe sex is having a baby?" "Yes, is that so hard to believe?" M was slowly recovering from the shock. "Ms Frost, you are the last person we would have thought of as being a mother." "Yeh, Schwarzenegger was more believable in 'Junior' than you." Angelo added. Paige looked baffled for a second before regaining her composure. "So, who's the father?" "Yeh, did Sean come to your room one night and give you an early Christmas present?" Jubilee asked a note of pride in her voice that she'd actually come up with something that made Emma blush. "Don't get me involved in this one kids." Sean protested. "In answer to your question Jubilee, no. Mr Cassidy is not the father." The kids looked among themselves for an answer. "Bobby?" "No." "Well, it can't be Cyclops or Archangel or Gambit 'cause you'd be in a billion pieces by now. It's not Logan, is it?" Jubilee asked defensively. "No, Jubilee. It's not Logan." "And it's not someone you picked up at a bar?" Emma grinned inwardly. Jubilee would make a good investigator if she could put some effort in to her studies. "No." "Okay, that leaves Bishop and Beast. Ewwww. That's an image I'll never get out of my mind." "What?" "You with Bishop or Beast." "Oh." Emma said, disappointed that she was seen as some sort of witch who would grow old alone. "Beast's the father." Sean said quietly when he sensed Emma's sadness. "Hey, that's not so bad. Wonder who it'll look like." Jubilee said as a way of apologizing to her teacher. "Maybe we should take bets on it." "Angelo, it is not appropriate to take bets on the appearance of a child." M scolded him. "Ah think it's great!" Paige said, "We'll have a new member. Kinda like havin' a new brother or sister." "I hope it's a girl." "It's got to be a boy!" "Girl." "Boy." Emma watched as Jubilee and Skin fought over the sex of her baby. Anyone who watched would have thought it was their own child they were fighting over. "And I suppose you will all want a hand in picking a name for my baby." "Sure, this is our baby now." "Only baby you'll ever have chica!" "Yeh well, ditto to you Angelo!" M ignored the two. To her they were petty children and she was above such childish behavior, though she had to admit, sometimes winding them up was fun. "I like the name Oriana." "Why? That's kind of an unusual name for a baby." "It's Latin for 'dawn', Paige. The child will bring a new light to the school." "Oh okay. Ah like Guinevere but Ah guess that name's been taken by Rogue's girl. Samuel's a good name for a boy." "How about a name that could be used for a boy and a girl. Ainsley, Jamie or Ashleigh." "Ev, you might be on to something!" "Thank's Jubilee." "How about Bobby and if it's a boy you could say you named it after Iceman." "Jubilee, grow up." "Em, have you thought of any names?" Sean asked as the kids continued their discussion and argument. Emma sat and thought back to her childhood. She and her best friend used to go to the park and think up names for their imaginary children. She remembered clearly the names she liked. "I like Hayley or Chloe or Gemma or Georgia." "What if it's a boy?" "Anthony, William, Philip." Sean smiled. Emma was calm and almost at peace with herself. It was something he'd never seen in her before. "So, when's it due?" "April 10th." "Guys, can we go inside and leave the teachers alone." Jubilee began as she dragged Everret and Angelo in the direction of the main building. "Why?" "We've got homework to finish Paige." "No we ...." Paige said but was stopped by Skin's hand over her mouth. All the students went inside and left the teachers alone. Emma lay back in her seat. A smile appeared on her face. "Well, I don't know about you but I'm going to enjoy this." "Enjoy what?" The abrupt departure of the kids made him suspicious and he wasn't really paying any attention to what Emma was saying. "The sun, the peace and quiet, the pregnancy. Everything." "That's good Em." Emma looked at Sean who looked like he was not in the same state as her. "Sean, I'm having quints!" "What?" Sean almost choked himself getting the word out. "I'm kidding. It's just you were a million miles away. I wanted to see if you were really paying attention." Sean got up from his seat and stretched. Emma was now comfortably lounging. She'd taken off her shoes and blouse and skirt, revealing a white bathing suit which left everything to the imagination. "Well don't look so surprised, Sean. I do have some respectable clothes." She said as he looked at her outfit. "Just don't whine to me when you get sun burn." "Yes dad!" Sean shook his head and walked up to the main building. He still couldn't believe that Emma was pregnant and that Hank put he in that condition. He was also afraid of what the kids were up to and quite rightly so.
