~RACHEL'S STORY~

I am this huge country music fan. I mean, if it did not come on my country station, I really didn't want to hear it. I made my family listen to the country coutdown every Sunday on the way to church. The CD's and tapes I bought were mainly country. So, why on earth would I be listening to *N SYNC? Well, cause they have great music!!

It was last summer, not long after the *N SYNC *N CONCERT was on Disney. I had a friend at church, who did not have the internet. She came up to me oneday after church and asked me to check out the *N SYNC site. I was like OK sure. She wanted any color pictures or info that I could get her. So, that afternoon I checked out the site and got all the info I could for her. I took it back to her and she was so happy.

I called her like every other night at the time and each time I called her, she was watching the Disney concert. I thought she had really lost it this time. She was like infatuated with these guys. Well, finally she got sick of me asking her all these questions and asked me to stay the night with her, so I could just watch the concert.

So, one Firday night I went and stayed with her. The whole time we watched it, she was telling me all kinds of stuff. I could not even remember who was who, much less anything else she was telling me. Well, after it went off I was like they are pretty cool. I think she was kinda shocked, since I listened to country and nothing else. That night we ended up watching the concert five times. I was hooked.

That Sunday I went to Wal-Mart and got the tape. My friend found out and was like you gotta let me borrow it. I was like WHAT?! First of all, I was shocked she didn't have the tape and second nobody was getting my tape. So, I got a blank tape and made her a copy. She listened to it all the time. On the way to school, on the way home from school, and to work out to.

We finally had something we could talk about ALL the time. I mean, we use to see or read the littlest things and would start laughing, cause in some way it dealt with one of the guys. It was great. Now, I have the inside of my closet door covered in posters (my rents would go crazy if I had a ton on my walls). I think they are great to listen to and are good role models. I have realized some things now, that I never thought about before. Some how, I am more confident and beleieve I can do anything I put my mind too. I think I always knew that, but seeing what they did really made me realize I can do anything.

~CARRIE'S STORY~

I first saw *N Sync on the Ricki Lake Show. First I saw Justin and I was like,"Oh he's cute but he's got something majorly wrong with his hair." LOL!! So I turned the channel after they finished their set.

I saw them again on MTV and I was like,"Hey its the "I Want You Back" guys!!" So I watched them dance around for awhile and made fun of them for a bit...lol.

Finally, I had heard about the Disney concert and saw the cute little commercials so I thought I'd watch it. Me and my little sister made plans to watch it together (quality time you know) but when it came on she wasn't home yet. So, as I did the dishes, I'd watch and then run back and wash some more dishes before my mom got home. But before long, I was so taken in by their performance, I had forgotten about the rest of the dishes. When my sister got home, she hopped on her bed and watched the concert and I remember looking over at her and she was just enthralled. I was like,"Uh, I think we found something she likes...lol"

One day, we were out shopping and I was looking through the CDs and found *N Sync's. I showed my sister and she was so hyped I decided to buy it. I took it home and it became my new work-out CD. Plus, that music came around at a time in which I really needed it.

My sister started to go crazy because she thought she'd never be able to meet and be able to be friends with 'N Sync and even if she did, they wouldn't want to be friends with a kid. I felt awful for her so I wanted to see what I could do for her. So, the next day I got on the computer and surfed for some 'N Sync sites. I found, like, 5. So I went to the biggest one and asked the owner if she could help me out. She couldn't. I was like,"Well, I tried." I had NO desire to get into the group. I was content to just have the music and not know anything about them. However, I was walking by the computer one day and I was like,"Maybe I should try again." Deciding against it,since I didn't want to get my sister's hopes up, I walked on and then this little voice went off in my head and said,"Carrie, you gotta make your own fate.", whatever the heck that means in this reference. So, I went ahead and tried. It was unbeleivable!! Due to the fact that I got online and did what I was doing for my sister, I started my first charity mission of my own, I learned some very valuable lessons and some great opportunities were opened up for me. However, I'm still working on my main goal for my sister.

I mean, I'm not gonna say,"Its all thanks to 'N Sync" because its not. Its thanks to God (first and foremost), my sister, my friends, me and then N Sync. Everyone is so quick to give N Sync the credit. All they did was put out a talent for the people to enjoy. If, because of their presence, something happened to you that impacted your life for the better, its because of God and you. They actually played just a small role. But I do thank them for the small role they did play in my life even though they had no idea they were doing it:o)
