O.k., I thought I should tell y'all about the history of the group. I know, I know...everybody practically knows this without having to like *N Sync but we'll go over it again. Bare with me here:o)
O.k.,deap breath, Chris is the one who came up with the idea for the group. So he called Justin. Justin and Chris had known eachother from auditions. From there, they called JC who had known Justin back from when they were both on the MMC. One night they all went clubbin' and they ran into Joey. Joey knew them all but was friends with JC and had no clue why they were all together. He would soon find out. They asked him to join the group. They had a quartet but they wanted to enhance their sound with a little bass. So, Justin called his old vocal coach and he (the vocal coach) suggested Lance Bass. Lance (Lansten) auditioned and the rest is history. And breathe out.
The name "*N Sync" originates from a Scandanavian term meaning "hair-care product abuser". No, I'm just foolin' with ya. They were all sitting around trying to come up with a name and a logo and Justin's mom said,"Wow, you guys are in sink." Head scratching began and the light bulbs were a-blinkin' and they came up with the name "*N Sync". As they wrote it, they noticed that each of the last letters in their names spelled "N Sync", which I think is a misconception because "LansteN" is not his REAL name thank you very much...LoL. Again, just kidding:o)
