Chapter Nine

--Natasha--

"Fricken' Marie. She thinks she's hot stuff. Why was I such a fool?" Natasha said to herself venting her frustrations to no one in particular.

She went to turn on her radio. "And here's the latest song from the Backstreet Boys! This ones called ‘Don't Want You Back'!"

Natasha let out a sigh as the song came on. "What the heck?" she said as she could smell gaseous fumes coming from somewhere in her car.

Although she was on the highway, she decided it would be best to pull off to the side to see where it was coming from. She got out of her car to investigate. Slowly she looked at the exterior of the car until she noticed something attached to her muffler. She leaned down to the ground to get a closer look. "Is that what I think it is?" she said with fear.

Natasha looked closer at the black box as the bright red numbers clicked from ten down to five and she decided to get away as fast as she could.

--Marissa & Julia--

"I can't believe her! How could she have done this?! Natasha has done nothing to her!" Marissa yelled down the hallway as they headed toward the front doors. At this moment she could care less if anyone could hear her.

"Yeah but Natasha was engaged to Howie. And Marie I'm sure will do anything to stop them from getting back together," Julia replied.

"Oh my God. I feel so awful. I shouldn't have tried to keep Natasha away from Howie earlier. And now look what has happened! What if she doesn't want to talk to me any more?"

"Well, where are the other guys? Maybe we she went to go talk to them! You know how well she got along with AJ and Nick. Or maybe they at least know where she is," Julia said as they hopped inside Marissa's blue jeep.

"You're right. But wouldn't they be at the hotel?"

"No, I think I remember Kevin saying that they had sound check at five o'clock," Julia said looking down at the clock that now said five sixteen.
