God combined the Florida and Michigan youth and the Y.O.M. team to bring great miracles and tremendous outpouring of his spirit to El Salvador and Honduras. While we were there we witnessed about 50 people filled with the Holy Ghost and 8 baptized in his name. We thought we went there to encourage the people and uplift them, but as it turned out, THEY uplifted US. It was a wonderful experience to go to a country that you didn’t speak their language but you all served the same God and worshipped in the same way. It was really touching to see that they had a lot less than we did, but still found the strength and time to worship God. I will never forget that as long as I live. If these people can do it with no air conditioning, walk 3 miles up the side of a mountain and not break a sweat, worship with barely no music and sit on hard planks as makeshift pews, how much more can we worship God in our churches where were are comfortable? All of the young people that went were changed and will never be the same! We call ourselves the "Chosen People" because we feel that we were hand picked by God to go on this trip. He chose each and everyone of us to come together and form this great puzzle. Many of us went through alot to get here, and some of us owe great gratitude to Rev. Mark Hattabaugh for giving us the encourgement and faith we needed to make it all the way. Without him, some of us would have not known that we needed the "Faith and Desire" that we didnt know we had. And for that we say a BIG thanks to our Fearless 'Chosen' leader Bro. "Happy" Hattabaugh. Youth On Missions has proven to be a strength builder for those who want to make a difference. We are all on a quest to place stepping stones in our life that assist us on our journey home and it is amazing what a boost is given by pouring yourself into others. Youth On Missions is a stepping stone that can help through one of the seasons of life. On our most recent YOM trip to El Salvador/Honduras there were numerous life impacting events. I will never be the same man. The prayer meetings on the bus were full of the glory of God. The joy of being with great kids who are full of life and the Holy Ghost create bonds that cannot be broken. We will remember all the smiles of blessing and tears of burden we saw.
