An ancient, antique green covered book rests at the bottom of the trunk in a thick pile of dust. Phoebe reaches in, takes out the book, 'The Book of Shadows. Phoebe opens the front cover to see a centuries old woodcarving of coven of three women gathered around a circle, casting spells. And, on the first page an elaborately scrolled incantation. "Hear now the words of the witches. The secrets we hid in the night. The oldest of spells are invoked here. The great gift of magic is soughtÖ"

As the Halliwell sisters begin to discover, the Book of Shadows is more than just an antique publication in their attic. When siblings Prue, Piper and Phoebe begin to learn more about the book, their heritage and the unique powers that have been bestowed upon them, They must set aside their differences in order to stand together, knowing that they only have themselves to rely upon.
"Charmed" explores the relationship between three different sisters complicated by the discovery of supernatural powers that each possesses and consequences they share by keeping this family secret away from any outsiders as they find their respective ways in the world.
From Spelling Television, "Charmed"' stars Shannen Doherty ("Beverly Hills, 90210"), Holly Marie Combs ("Picket Fences"), Alyssa Milano "Melrose Place") and T.W. King ("Time Cop") and airs Thursday nights (9:00-10:00 PM/PT) on The WB.

None of the Halliwell sisters wanted to move into their late grandmother's statuesque, yet antiquated house in the hills of San Francisco, but for Prue (Doherty), a novice museum curator and Piper (Combs), a beginner chef, it was a cost-effective way save money while keeping the house in the family. Their housing plan is altered, however, when the free-spirited Phoebe (Milano) unexpectedly moves back in, reinstating the feud between oldest, career-oriented Prue and youngest child Phoebe, who up and left town after Prue accused her of chasing after her boyfriend.
As the trio struggle to understand their family history and overcome their individual differences in order to live together under one roof, the sisters Halliwell are also faced with dark, supernatural forces existing that can further complicate their lives. Always around to lend a supportive and logical ear to any situation is Inspector Andy Trudeau (King), who once had romantic feelings for Prue when they were classmates.
But as Prue, Piper and Phoebe learn more about their otherworldly powers and slowly gain trust in one another, theyíre only beginning to understand the strength that their newly formed sisterly bond can withstand. Aaron Spelling, E. Duke Vincent, Constance M. Burge ("Savannah") and Brad Kern ("New York Undercover") are the series executive producers. Burge is the series creator Les Sheldon serves as supervising producer and Sheryl Anderson is the co-producer.
