Understanding for Wiccan Beliefs

  • The Wiccan Religion has often been misunderstood by society. It is an earth based religion whose main belief is harm none. Wiccans are normal people. They do not follow Satan...they do not believe in Satan nor in God. Nature and life is sacred and that is what we believe in, the moon and sun as goddess is what is believed in for some as well.

  • Society should not base its judgement of the ancient wiccan religion on the few that go onto television talk shows, documentaries, and such portray as wiccan, pagan, or other earth based religion followers. Some wiccans that I know are normal everyday people who have morals and are quite normal. Wives, mothers, fathers, grandparents, college students, daughters, an aunt, a friend. Why can't they be allowed their choice of religion? They are only doing what makes their life full, happy, comfortable and leads them to that goal where they wish to be in life.

  • I chose to look into the pagan/wiccan religions as christianity did not fulfill my spiritual needs. I have been to many different christian denominations searching for one that would fit me and my needs. I could not find one. Not even the Roman Catholic denomination that I was raised to as a child. Just because I have a more nature based, different choice in beliefs and believe that religion should be fluid and flexible does not mean that I am not a good person who is capable of living a productive, happy, healthy, and moral life while helping others.

  • I am a good person not an axe murderer nor a satanist--I just believe differently than some do. Are wiccans, pagans, other earth based religious peoples, or those who choose to believe nothing to be discriminated against even though we live in a country that was colonized with the ideal of religious freedom?

  • Do you know that Wiccan is a recognized religion in the United States of America?

  • I wish that we all could understand one another. Wiccan people believe that there are many different ways to the same sacred truth. Some may not believe in a deity, but Wiccans do believe in tolerance, respect, and love for their fellow human beings. Please help us end the discrimination against ALL religions. I want to feel free to tell the world what I feel, what I believe, and what I see without fear of discrimination or fear of me.

If you are a wiccan in the United States, you may wish to visit The Covenant of the Goddess a website for an international organization of wiccans both solitary and those in covens to help protect wiccans/pagans legal rights as well as promote understanding and networking amongst wiccans.
