While reading thru your sign on logs I came across a request for information on the Watkins 23. .

My current boat is a Watkins 23XL , Jolly Roger, so here goes.

400 Watkins 23s were built starting in 1973 through 1980.

LOD is 23ft,

LWL is 19.8ft,

Beam is 8ft.

Swing Keel:

Draft is 1'6" (board up) 6' (board down)

Weight is 2,500lbs with 900lbs Ballast

Sail Area is 227 sq ft,

measurements are I = 27.0,

J = 9.0,

P = 23.0,

E - 8.25

Main is 119 sq ft,

Genoa on Jolly Roger is 170%,

Jib (not measured)

Cabin Height is 5'.0",

with V-berth,

Port side quarter berth,

Starboard Dinette berth.

Portti -potty on starboard side of v-berth

Sink & ice chest in counter,

Cabinets and shelves on both sides

Jolly Roger has a wooden bow extension with anchor roller and bow pulpit.

Original winches, port and starboard and one mast mounted.

Single spreader Masthead rig with twin port and starboard shrouds, Fore and aft stays and stern pulpet, single life lines with cockpit gates,

external motor (I use a 1993 9.9 Yamaha, electric start, also have a 7.5hp Chrysler.

PHRF rating (base) is 276, with 9 points of credit for a 285 I give time to Buccaneer 210, Cal 20, Cape Dory 25, Fisher 37, Holder 18.5, O'Day 20 and 22
