Ricks 1981 Watkins 27 is named Coda,
We purchased her in January of 1998. The photos of the boat at anchor were taken at Desoto Point at the mouth of the Manatee River. I was on my Spring Break "sailabout" (I'm a teacher) and had just hopped in the dinghy just before sunset to row around and say hi to my anchorage neighbors and snapped these shots in the fading light. It was a beautiful evening and I met quite a few wonderful folks. The pictures under way are in Tampa Bay where we typically day sail. I don't remember exactly which ones I sent but if you have the one looking forward along the rail with spray shooting from the bow it was a shot of us going hard on the 25 - 30 knot wind while heavily reefed against a very square chop. I'll tell ya, that old boat charged right on, bashing through the waves with the bit in her teeth! Anyone who says the W27 can't go to weather is invited aboard Coda for a demonstration. Rick
