The races are watched in person then viewed over and over on tape to find horses that will have a good chance to win or run second in their next race(s) . We key on horses that might have won if they didn't: 1) run into trouble,2) ran extremely wide,3) had a bad post,4) ran against the bias,5) got a bad ride from the jockey. We also pay attention to horses that won the last race very easily and list those that we think can win 2 or more in a row. You can get nice prices even on these types if it is a young horse stepping up in class
Another way we find horses for our weekly list is attending the workouts. Alot of times impending success on race day will be hinted upon in the am workouts. A horse that runs a nice 4f or longer workout in good time and seems to be putting almost no effort into it is almost always on the verge of a win if put in to the right spot
