My Leopard Page


Welcome to my page



The Leopard is the third largest cat.
Very strong and agile, the Leopard is a capable
climber quite at home in the branches of a tree.



Leopard's currently range from the
tip of Southern Africa to the far East.
The Leopard is Solitary and is most frequently nocturnal.
Leopards hunt by stealth instead of speed or numbers.



The head and body length
of leopards range from 45-50 inches.
Leopards have a long tail up to 24 inches.
They range in weight from 90 to 150 pounds.



A classic coat of a leopard is dark brown
or black irregular circles against
a golden,tan,or yellow coat.
The underbelly is white with lighter rosettes.
The tail is generally darker.



Female usually give birth to 1 to 3 cubs.
The gestation period is 3 to 3 1/2 months.
Cubs are born blind, there
eyes opening after about 10 days.
For the first 2 months the cubs
remain hidden while there mother goes hunting.
The cubs remain with there mother for 18 to 24 months.
Leopards reach maturity at about 2 1/2 to 3 years.
Female leopards usually bear cubs only every 2 years.
