“Brian, why do I have to go?” whined Nick standing outside of his house with his best friend.

“Nickolas! I asked you a week ago and you agreed! My Grandma is the coolest lady alive, you have to meet her. She-,” started Brian as his cell phone interrupted him.

“Hello? Hey Nana....um sure that’s fine....no you go and have fun...yeah we will...I love you too, talk to you later.”

“Who was that?” asked Nick of his best friend.

“My Nana, duh! Looks like you’re off the hook. Nana’s friends asked her to go casino hopping and my Nana never passes up a casino! I’m going to go and do some errands, wanna come?” questioned Brian.

“Sorry B-Rok. I’m tired, I think I may take a ride in my boat or something,” stated Nick running his hands through his blonde locks.

“Suit yourself. Call me later, we’ll do something,” stated Brian jumping in his jeep and speeding off.

Nick walked through his house out to the back porch. He looked out over the huge backyard. He watched his sister, Leslie, dancing and acting goofy with her friends by the pool. Leslie’s best friend, Angela sat in a chaise lounge chair flipping through a prom magazine.

Nick never ever regretting being a Backstreet Boy. He had seen and done things that your average teenager could never dream of but he still missed the little things. Things like going to his high school football games, playing on the basketball team, going to his prom.

“Hey Les, what’s up?” he asked walking up to his sister

“Not a lot. Can you do me a huge favor? Amber is coming over-can you go wait at the gate for her?” she asked sweetly as she turned down the radio.

“Why can’t you?” he asked slightly annoyed. His idea of fun wasn’t hanging out at the front gate waiting for Leslie’s friend.

“I’ve gotta stay back here. Amber thinks we forgot about her birthday and we are kind of surprising her.”

“With two people?” asked Nick confused.

“Well the party isn’t here genius but she doesn’t know what’s up so please?” she asked pressing her hands to together in prayer.

“Fine but you owe me,” he replied as Leslie kissed his cheek.

Nick made his way down to the gate and sat down. For once, fans weren’t sitting around and begging for his autograph. Nick ran a hand through his blond hair as a car-ful of teenage guys blew by. The top was down on the blue convertible and Dru Hill’s ‘How deep is your love’ poured from the speakers. He watched them turn into a driveway down the street as a car pulled into his driveway. A beautiful woman was behind the wheel of a yellow convertible beetle. She turned down radio which was playing ‘Girls just wanna have fun’ by Cindi Lauper. No way it could have been Leslie’s friend, Amber.

“Hello?” asked the woman, her sunglass covered eyes looking at him intently. Her auburn colored hair was in a French braid. She had on a white baby T-shirt that read ‘Slayer’ across the front with blue jean cutoff shorts. Nick kind of just stared at her.

“Hi,” he said shyly. Talking to girls was never Nick’s strong suit.

“Did you see a car-ful of guys drive past? I thought I saw them turn into this driveway.”

“Uh...no they pulled into the drive about two down.” “Thanks, I really don’t know this neighborhood. My brother was in that car along with our cousin. Our cousin lives around here and we’re kind of staying with him. Don’t ask me why I told you that but um I’m gonna go before I make a complete fool of myself,” she babbled blushing slightly.

“No problem, maybe I’ll see you around,” Nick stated smiling still staring at her.

“I promise you will,” she smiled backing out and driving down to the drive she was looking for.

‘Wow!’ thought Nick sitting back down in the lawn stunned ‘She was amazing.’
