Part 1

“Look at him, James! He’s miserable!” exclaimed the tall curly haired blonde.

“Don’t look. That’s all I ask,” she said pulling him to the edge of the platform “See, he’s praying for help.”

“OK, so he’s praying. Do you know how many people pray for our help? He can’t receive special treatment because he’s famous. You know this,” James warned.

“But he’s special, you know that. He was given a second chance. Second chancers take precedent over normal mortals. They are special or didn’t they teach you that in your training?” questioned Molly

“You’re right but you are off his case. You did your job and the case is closed,” reminded James

“Can’t we bend the rules? I mean come on, you’ve got pull with the big guy!” she exclaimed

“Is your halo on too tight? You are asking me to break numero uno rule, don’t interfere. He maybe a second chancer but we can’t do it!”

“James, don’t give me that. We have bent the rules before and I’ll be darned if I’m going to see my client suffer,” she stated definitely.

“Listen to yourself, Mol. Why do you care so much about him?”

“When I was still alive-still down on Earth-I loved their music. It helped me stay positive. I knew that the cancer would eventually take my life but they helped me forget. I’m so sorry that I could never thank them,” she explained.

“But you watched over him during his heart surgery. You were assigned that case as a way to thank him,”

“It’s not enough, James! I want him to be healthy and happy. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that happens!” declared Molly

“He was your favorite wasn’t he?” asked James

“Is it that obvious?”

Meanwhile on Earth

“Brian, come on. We gotta go,” stated a tall dark haired man named Kevin tapping his cousin on the shoulder

“OK. Give me a sec?” asked the sandy blonde short southern guy.

“Sure, just make it quick. I think he’ll understand,” said Kevin pointing to the sky.

Brian got back down on his knees as Kevin walked away and finished his prayer.

“I know you already granted one of my prayers and I’m really grateful but if you just help me out with what I said before I’d really appreciate it,” stated Brian looking up to the heavens.

He slowly got up and walked quietly out of the immense cathedral.

“Ready?” asked his tall blonde best friend

“You betcha, Nicky!” he exclaimed

“I hate that name,” said his best buddy disgustingly

“Oh please! Get over it, Frack,” replied Brian smiling

2 hours later back in heaven

“You’re request has been approved. You owe me, big time,” said James

“Thanks you so much!” exclaimed Molly throwing her arms around his neck

“OK, so how are you going to do this?”

“Me? No way bud! I still need a superior. I’m still in my probationary period. And guess who I chose as my superior.”

“Let me guess-” started James

“Yep-it’s you! Now come on, we have tons of work to do,” she said grabbing his hand and running off.

Same time on the tour bus

“Hey Rok, you OK?” asked Howie sitting next to his friend on the bus

“Yeah, I’ll be fine, I guess,” he replied

“Still bumming about Gretchen?” questioned Howie. Brian had dated Gretchen for about six months. Three weeks prior to the moment on the bus she had told him she needed someone to be around all the time and, right now, Brian couldn’t give that. It hurt Howie to know that a girl had broken Brian’s heart when it was so fragile to begin with.

“Yeah. People get their hearts broken everyday, right? I’m glad she was up front with me though. I just wish she would have told me sooner. I guess it’s for the best. We were too different anyway,” stated Brian

“I hate to see you like this, Bri, but we all have to go through it sooner or later. Just so you know, I’m hear for you,” Howie said placing a hand on his friend’s shoulder.

“How did you get through it? I mean when you and Jenny broke up. How did you deal?” he questioned, his bright blue eyes looking to Howie

“I had you guys and everything so I talked about it and I just took it one day at a time. I tried to remember the good times and I tried to move on. I wrote how I was feeling down and I guess I realized that life doesn’t stop for anything-even broken hearts,” finished Howie.

Thanks D,” stated Brian as the bus stopped “I really appreciate it. Now where is Frack, we gotta throw him off the bus first!”

The Next Day at a Cafe in Heaven

“Alright, I was thinking of just pushing them together, literally. Have them run into each other at the supermarket or something,” started Molly.

“Oh, Mol, that’s so tired! Let’s do something original. What about one of his fan letters really touches him and he gets in contact with the girl?” suggested James

“I got it! Doesn’t one of your old friends have a sister that we can hook him up with?”

“No way, Molly. We are not bringing my friends into it! Ixnay on that idea, Sparky,” James said sternly

“Alright. Hey what about Brian’s sister?”

“Genius, Brian doesn’t have a sister.”

“I’m Brian’s number one fan, I’d think I’d know! Remember she was given up for adoption because when she was born Brian was going through all his heart trouble. He was just reunited with her,” said Molly searching James face for some sign of recognition.

“Oh yeah. Alexandra, right? But I don’t see what this has to do with finding him a woman.”

“Brian and his new found sister have become quite close. Her best friend, Samantha is the point. She seems to be a great match for Brian.”

“So where are they going to meet?” asked James

“What about at the studio, where they are recording the new album. Alexandra and Samantha are going to be visiting him there.”

“OK, sounds like a plan but we better get a move on-the guys just arrived at the studio.”

“That is so neat how you just like know things. I can’t wait til I can do that!”

Moments later outside of the studio

“Yo Brian, what’s up?” asked JC, a tall dark haired member of the boy band *NSYNC

“Not much. What about you?” asked Brian giving him a hug

“Well we’re still trying to get used to only the four of us. Hopefully this collaboration album will help,” replied JC

“I was really sorry to hear about Lance. He was a really great guy.”

“It’s tough but it helped put some real attention on the effects of drunk driving,” said JC trying to find the bright side of the tragedy.

“Yeah, I heard you guys did a PSA about it. It’s really brave of you.”

“Thanks, Bri.”

“Um, is your little depression fest over with yet?” asked a man of medium height with unruly braids flying everywhere

“Yes, Chris, we are done. Sorry, didn’t mean to ruin the mood.” said Brian

“No prob, Bob! Let’s just get in there and do this one for Lance, agreed?”

“Don’t forget, Dennis,” added AJ

“And my sister, Caroline,” reminded Howie

“OK, can we end this little melodramatic moment and get in the studio? Let’s remember the happy times,” commanded Nick.

“Yeah, Nick’s right. Let’s do it,” said Joey ushering everyone in.
