The Main Characters in Final Fantasy 3

Terra Branford:

A mysterious young woman, controlled by the empire, and born with the gift
of magic.

Terra is probably the star of the entire game. She is first introduced
as ?????. She is under the Empire's control by the slave crown on her
head. After the battle with Tritoch, she is taken to Arvis' house, who
removes the crown. She remembers her name, but that's about all. While
in the mines, she is saved by Locke who promises to protect her. After
she regains her memory, she learns how to morph. She is probably one of
the most powerful characters in the game.

Locke Cole:

Treasure Hunter and trail worn traveler searching the world over for
relics of the past.

Locke considers himself as a treasure hunter, but others refer to him
as a thief. Locke can be very valuable at some parts of the game. He
can steal items from the opponent like tonics, armor, swords, and
relics. You can get some very valuable items from stealing. He is
the fastest character in the game, so that helps as well. He offers
protection for Terra & Celes. He will be around almost the entire first
half of the game.

Cyan Garamonde:

Faithful retainer to his family's liege with the courage and strength of
a hundred men.

Cyan joins the group after losing his wife and child in a poisoning at
Doma. He's an excellent swordsman and can learn many techniques. After
you defeat Wrexsoul, he learns his maximum sword technique. He's pretty
major in the game.

Shadow:

He owes allegiance to no one and will do anything for money. He comes
and goes like the wind.

Shadow's real name is Clyde. He is one of those optional characters,
but a good choice to have him. He may first appear in South Figaro, but
will say nothing. Next he's by the Lete River in Sabin's scenario.
He's very useful at this point, but may leave at anytime. Next, he's at
a cafe in Kohlingen. He'll join you if you pay him. He'll leave you
after you find Terra. He next shows up in Albrook (manditory) as you
are about to go to Thamasa. Then he'll be on the Floating continent and
comes back again to save Celes from falling off the cliff. Wait for him
when you get to the airship after that scene. If not, you'll never see
him again.

Edgar Roni Figaro:

The young king of Figaro. Ally to the empire, and a master designer of
machinery.

Edgar considers himself as a "ladies man." Yet we never see him with a
girl. Wierd. He is a very powerful character especially with the auto
crossbow and/or flash. He can attack all the monsters at once with
these tools unlimited. He is slick with his 2-headed coin.

Sabin Rene Figaro:

Edgar's twin brother who traded the throne for his own freedom.

Sabin is a very strong character, with high vigor. He joins the
group after the battle with Vargas. His blitz attack is very powerful.

Celes Chere:

Product of genetic engineering. Battle hardened magi-tek knight with a
spirit as pure as snow.

Celes turns traitor on the empire and joins the returners after rescued
by Locke. She knows ice magic when you first receive her. Her runic
blade can be very helpful when fighting enemies that use magic spells.

Strago Magus:

An elderly gentleman. Pure of heart, and learned in the way of monsters.

Strago is the oldest character in the game. He has a granddaughter named
Relm. Strago can use Lores which are spells that he learns after seeing
the monster do. His stamina is very low, but he is still a good
character to have.

Relm Arrowny:

in her pictures, she captures everything. Forrests, water, light, the
very essence of life.

Relm is only 10 years old, yet she is a big help to the party. She is
an artist. Her sketch attack can turn an enemies' attack on itself.
She is Strago's granddaughter, and cuases a lot of conflict when
introduces. Her Magic Power is pretty high.

Setzer Gabbiani:

A blackjack playing, world traveling, casino dwelling, free spirit.

Setzer joins the group after he kidnaps who he thinks is the opera star
Maria, who is actually Celes. He joins after losing a coin toss. He
is a very risky gambler, and without him, you have no wings. Once you
find the fixed dice, he can sometimes attack up to 9999 damage.

Mog (The Moogle):

Human loving, fast talking, street smart, slam dancing moogle.

KUPO! Mog joins the group IF you choose him over the Gold Hairpin at
the cliff. He can also join in the dark world. He can hold the Moogle
Charm which will stop monsters from attacking. He's a dancer, which can
be very helpful. And could be a cute pet for somebody.

Gau:

Draped in monster hides, eyes shining with intelligence. A youth
surviving against all odds.

Gau saves Sabin & Cyan at the waterfall. He will join if you feed him.
He can learn rages which are the monster's attacks. He's a very
wierd character and a low vocabulary. Still useful to have around.

Gogo:

Shrouded in odd clothing. Is this a man? A woman? Or should we ask?

There is very little known about Gogo. He is a mime. He can mimic
any attack you made before his attack. You can also choose his extra
attacks like tools, blitz, etc... I've heard rumors that Gogo is
actually Setzer's lost love Daryl, but I am not going to promote
rumors. I'm not like that.

Umaro:

Admirer of bone carvings. As strong as a gigas. A sasquatch pal with
muscle.

Umaro is very strong. He is summoned by Mog after you take the Terrato
esper and defeat him. (If Mog is in your party) Umaro cannot be
controlled. He will randomly throw himself at the enemy. If equipped
with the rage ring, he can throw other characters. With the blizzard
orb, he can throw a snow storm.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Vicks & Wedge:

They are only in at the beginning of the game. Both are empire soldiers
and are killed by Tritoch after defeating Whelk.

Banon:

The head of the returners. If he dies, the game is over. He can use
health which is like a cure 2.

?????:

A ghost (or 2) on the phantom train.

Leo:

An empire general. You help him look for the espers. After betraying
Kefka, he is killed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Arvis:

Member of the returners.

Vargas:

Duncan's son. You fight him at Mt. Koltz.

Ultors:

The most annoying octopus in the world. He is popping up everywhere
causing havoc. Interesting character but very annoying.

Gungho:

Strago's friend.

Cid:

The magi-tek enginerring director. he also helps the returners out.
He may die if not treated properly.

Emperor Gesthal:

Gesthal is the emperor of the Empire. Kefka is his pawn is his
evil-doings until Kefka kills him.

Kefka:

He's MEAN, MEAN, MEAN!!! He's not exactly the guy you want to
hangout with. First, he puts the slave crown on Terra, he poisones
Doma killing Cyan's friends and family. he attacks a neutral town
for their esper. He kills 2 of his allies, and completely destroys
the world due to his obsession for power. This is the one you would
like to burn at the stake.
