FF2 begins on auto for a while.
Cecil is captain of the Baron airship The Red Wings. They are ordered to attack the Magician
town Mysidia and take their Crystal of Water. When they return to Baron Cecil questions the motives
of the Baron King and is dismissed from captain of the Red Wings. After this, Kain enters to
defend hus friend Cecil. The King sends Cecil & Kain to Town of Mist to deliver a mysterious
package.
Now you have control. Walk around the castle everywhere to get information, and items.
When finished, head to your room and rest. The next day you and Kain set off on your mission.
Before starting your journey, check out the town of Baron. But items as needed. When back
\on world map, head left then north to the Cave of Mist.
Go through the cave collecting the items. Not much strategy needed here.
Before exiting, you fight a Dragon Mist. Have Cecil fight and Kain Jump. When is turns into Mist
DO NOT FIGHT. Doing so will cause a Breath counter attack which does good damage.
When you arrive at the Mist town, the package automatically opens and destroys the town.
You see a little girl crying to her mother who just died. You learn when her dragon fell, she
did too. She blames you for killing her mother because you killed her dragon. She fights
you after to try to help her. She calls Titan and the battle ends. An earthquake occurs, and
you are left with the girl. Kain is gone. Take the girl to Kaipo not far away.
Enter Kaipo. Cecil will take the girl to the Inn. He lets you stay for free so she can rest.
While sleeping, an officer and 3 soldiers come in. You battle them. If you kill the 3 soldiers,
the leader will run. The girl realizes you have protected her. She says her name is Rydia and
she joins you.
Go to the weapon shop and but her a staff for now. Go to the small house in the northeast.
In the bed you'll find Rosa. She is very sick, and needs Sandruby to get better. After getting the
info, leave.
Enter the cave in the north east. You might want to get Rydia to gain a level
or two before entering, as she is very weak. You'll run into Tellah who is blocking the path.
If you didn't help Rydia, or see Rosa, he won't let you through. He tells you his daughter Anna
has run off with a Bard, and he is going after them, but a huge monster blocks the way. He
asks for your help and joins the group. Tellah's magic will be very useful in this cave. Get the
treasures. When battling, have Cecil attack and have Rydia and Tellah use lightening on
enemies, and ice on gators. Have Tellah use fire on zombies. Make sure you get to the
secret passage in the waterfall on the first screen. Some goodies await!!!
When you get to the first save point in the game, Tellah will set up camp and tell you
more of his story. Don't forget to save here! Continue through the cave getting the treasures.
Make sure you find the Ice Rod and give it to Rydia. Eventually you'll get outside. Tent if
necessary and save. Enter the next cave. Get the treasure including new equipment for Cecil.
When you reach the end, you will encounter 8 tentacles. The first one will go away after 3 hits,
then 2-3 hits after that. When it's down to one, have Cecil attack and Rydia and Tellah use
Lightning. This isn't too difficult, you should win no problem. Exit the cave.
As you exit the cave, hed north. You will see the redwings attack
Damycan. Go into Damycan. The soldiers are wounded or dead. Head to the king's room
and you'll see Anna on the ground. Tellah rushes to her side as the Bard appears. Tellah
fights the Bard automatically. Anna stops the fight and tells her father the Bard is Prince Edward
of Damycan. They were going to run off and get married, as we was going to ask for approval
they were attacked. After asking Tellah to forgive Edward, she dies. Tellah decides to avenge
his daughter's death and goes after the ones responsible. He will leave the party and go on
his own. Edward will join you here as a Bard. You tell him you need Sandruby. He says
it's to the east, but you need the hvercraft to get there. He gets the hovercraft. You exit
the castle.
Go in the hovercraft and go east. Float across the rocks in the water. Go
down to the cave. Enter the cave. Go through the cave getting the treasures. If you battle,
have Cecil attack, Rydia use Ice Magic, and Edward attack. Don't forget to save in the cave.
When you get to Antlion's lair Edward will try to get the Sandruby, but the Antlion will attack.
Be careful fighting Antlion, anytime it gets attacked regurally, it will counter. Cecil should attack,
Rydia should call Chocobo, and Edward should use cures, or attack. Not terribly difficult if your
levels are ok. (Make sure Edward levels up as he starts on level 5). When you win you'll get the
Sandruby. Edward wonders if something bad is going to happen cause Antlions normally don't
attack humans. Go back through the cave.
Get back on the hovercraft and go west. You can't get to Kaipo through
the cave. Use the hovercraft and float over the rocks west of Damycan. Go down and right.
Go to Kaipo. Go into the house Rosa is in. Talk to her and use the Sandruby. She will wake
up, and you talk about Baron and how Damycan was attacked for their crystal. She will join
you, but you rest for the night. That night Edward goes out, plays his harp, but is attacked by
a Waterhag. Just keep attacking it. Anna's spirit will appear to help him fight. When you win,
she will tell Edward to spread love over the world and she vanishes.
When you wake, take the hovercraft back accross the waters, passed the
Antlion cave and to the mountain. The entrance is blocked by thick ice. After a lot of
hesitation, Rosa finally convinces Rydia to use fire. When this happens, Rydia can now
use Fire. Make your way through gathering the treasure. As the get near the exit, you
come across a man attacking monsters. This is Yang. You help him beat off the monsters.
Use normal attacks, Rydia uses magic, Rosa cures. When it explodes, have Yang kick to
attacke veryone. When you finish them, you figure out Golbez is going after Fabul's Crystal
of Air next. Yang joins you. Finish this section and exit.
Head East/South/East to Fabul. When arrive, Buy new equipment for Cecil, and rest if
necessary (It'll be necessary). Go to the king's room. Yang will tell the king Baron is about
to attack. The king is doubtful of you helping, but Yang insures you're ok. Rydia and Rosa
will take leave for this battle. You have Cecil, Yang and Edward. There will be several
battles, and you cannot heal in betweem so be careful. When battling, have everyone attack,
Yang can kick is there are mulitple enemies. They chase you into the crystal room where
Kain will appear. You're glad he's ok, but he wants to fight you. 99% chance he will
beat you. After the battle Golbez comes in and has Kain take the crystal. As extra insurance
he kidnaps Rosa. They exit. Rydia cures everyone back to health. You need to think of a
plan. Head to the inn and rest. The next day, the king prvides you a ship to take to Baron
because their navy is weak. Exit the castle. I'd save now cause you probably haven't
in a while. Get on the ship.
When on the ship, Yang's wife will send you off. Everything is smooth sailing
for a while. But then the ship is attacked by Leviatan. It swallows Rydia, and Yang goes after
it. The ship is the swallowed in. The next scene, Cecil stands in the middle of the desert
alone. (Save)
Head east to the town. This is Mysidia, the town you attacked at the beginning
of the game. The wizards there have it out for you. Talking to the wrong ones could cause
you to turn into a frog, pig, or midget. Head towards the crystal room. Talk to the elder. He
tells you you cannot defeat evil with your dark sword. You must overcome your darkness and
become a Paladin by climbing Mt Ordeals. He decides to help you, and sends twin magicians
Palom & Porom to guide you. Palom is a Black Wizard, Porom is a white wizard. They have
a special attack called Twin which causes major damage towards enemies, but it takes a while
to do. Buy Equipment for them and exit.
Head east toeards Mt Ordeals. When you get there, Palom will use Ice and remove the fire blocking the path. After this scene, the screen will change to inside the Red Wings where Golbez and Kain are holding Rosa. Golbez summons Milon, the Earth fiend to kill you. Back to Mt Ordeals, continue heading north until you run into your old friend Tellah, who tells you he's there searching for the spells he doesn't remember. He will now join your party.
Continue on, and use the save point. As you head left, you'll be attacked by Milon and 4 Revenants. Have Cecil concentrate on Milon (since his dark sword only takes 1 damage on undead) have the twins use the twin attack once, then have Palom use Fire 2 on Milon and Porom use Cure 2 on the group. Have Tellah use Fire on Milon and cure the party when necessary. When you finish go back and save again (trust me)! When you head back, Milon will appear behind you in his true form and another battle will start. First, have Tellah "row" to reverse the positions of the back attack. Have Cecil attack, and have the twins use Twin. Tellah should cure. Doing this, the battle should end within 3-4 rounds. Nothing difficult.
Head inside the pillar where Cecil will become a Paladin and will fight against his old self. Here, DO NOT ATTACK!!! Just keep casting Cure 1 on yourself, and eventually the Dark Knight will fade away. Now Cecil has a new rank and a new look. He also goes back to Level 1, but that doesn't mean much since he's stronger than the other 3 combined anyway. He can now learn some White magic spells. At this event, Tellah will also remember all of his spells, including Meteo. Exit Mt Ordeals and return to Mysidia.
When you return to Mysidia, the elder will open the Serpent Road which leads to the town of Baron. At Baron, the townspeople are converned about what the king is up to. Head to the inn where you'll see Yang, who has obviously been brainwashed. He sends 2 Guards after you. Just have Palom & Tellah use Virus on them. Be careful, they counter attack with Mini which is a pain. When you win, Yang will battle you. Use the twins attack, have Cecil attack, and Tellah use the triple attacks. When you win he will come to his senses. Rest at the inn. Yang will give you the Baron Key and he'll join you. Use the key and unlock the Weapon shop and get Thunder Rods for Palom & Tellah. Also get new armor for everyone except Cecil, but avoid those headbands!!! Head to the left of town and use the Key. Before going down the stairs, head right and get 1000 Gil. Make your way through this maze (save at the end). When you finish, you'll be in the waterway of Baron castle. Head left and down and enter this way. Go to your room and rest for free. Then head towards the King's room where Baigan will greet you and join up with you. The twins realize Baigan is actually a monster, and a battle begins.
Baigan and his 2 arms are your opponents. Focus mainly on the body, but getting the arms out of the way doesn't hurt. Baigan uses Wall on himself, but it doesn't last long. When the battle ends, go back to your room and rest again. Now head to the King's room where he reveals he's not the real King, but the Water fiend Kainazzo!
He's water, so have Tellah use Bolt 3 and Palom use Bolt 2. Yang and Cecil should use normal attacks, and Porom should be your healer. be careful of his Wave attack, but besides that, this is an easy battle.
After the battle Cid will appear and will lead you to his new airship. However, in the small room outside the King;s room Kainazoo casts a spell to shrink the room. To save the others, Palom and Porom turn themselves into stone to stone the walls from crushing the others.
PS. Don't forget there's pots on the top floor to refresh HP and MP.
