End song performed by all - Get Up, Stand Up

By all accounts, Ray Davies rocked the house down with You Really Got Me! and Bowie was hot as ever and in splendid vocal form!

January 14th 2003 Mark your calendars for February 23rd 2003 - The 2003 Grammy Awards, where Bowie is nominated for Best Male Rock Vocal for Slow Burn, together with the following: -

Details: As usual, Philip Glass will be the Artistic Director, and to date, David Bowie, Laurie Anderson, Ray Davies, Angelique Kidjo, Ziggy Marley, Rufus Wainwright and the Drepung Gomang monks have accepted invitations to play.

    April 5th 2002 - "Heathen" Info: - More details regarding the release of 'Heathen' are announced today, including eleven song titles and details of guest appearances by Pete Townshend and Dave Grohl.

    Due on ISO Records on June 10th (11th in the US), 'Heathen' features a song that has been remixed by Moby, and another remixed by the subject of the latest X-CHANGE with David, (posted yesterday) AIR.

    March 27th 2002 - Columbia Records has announced through a press release that Bowie's new album, "Heathen", will be released 11th June 2002. Full story here: - Daily Dish at Columbia Records. Also in the press release is -

    Following the release of "Heathen," Bowie is expected to perform on a series of European and American festival dates this summer. He will also act as curator of the prestigious Meltdown Festival in London during June.

    March 11th 2002 - Rumours abound as to where Bowie is playing this year, apparently a few in Europe think he will be at their festivals! The Isle of Wight rumour (below) has been quashed and the only ones that have been confirmed by the man himself is a gig at Roseland (don't know when or if it is just for BNetters) and the Meltdown in the UK. As for Meltdown, it's supposed to be at the Royal Festival Hall (see below) but nothing is on the site yet, to book.

    February 25th 2002 - WOW! I missed it big time, Bowie at the Concert for Tibet, performed a new song I Would Be Your Slave and a special arrangement of Space Oddity. (ed. note: can you imagine Bowie singing to you about being your slave!?)     October 20th 2001 Bowie opened The Concert for NYC today with a stirring rendition of America and Heroes. Dressed all in tan, sporting a new do (short in the back, long in the front), he sat on the stage playing an instrument (an omnichord) for the first song, then stood and sang Heroes to mostly a standing and cheering crowd, which included the 6,000 special guests of firemen and policemen.     October 15th 2001 Just confirmed - Bowie is performing, among many others, at The Concert for NYC this weekend, October 20th, 2001. Get your tape ready to record on VH1, at 7 p.m. EST.

    October 9th 2001 Extra TV program announced that the November issue of Vanity Fair magazine, due out next week (10/15/01) will have David Bowie, among others on the cover: -
    Jay-Z, Jewel, David Bowie, Beck, and Beyonce Knowles are some of music's talented wonders who gathered for the second annual Vanity Fair music issue due out next week. Vanity Fair's Lisa Robinson says, “One of the things we wanted to do was to show younger musicians and older musicians who were timeless.”
    Robinson says the issue shot by renowned photographer Annie Liebowitz comes out at a time when the country needs it most. She says, “I think music is very comforting and healing to people.”
