TIPS AND TECHNIQUES

Did you know that a 100% acceptable HO scale turnout (track switch) does
not exist? The best can be made acceptable with a little work. We use WALTHERS/SHINOHARA
code 83 turnouts. These have two, easy to correct, faults. The first is
point tip shape. The point tip needs to be rounded and flared to prevent
that "picky" wheel from derailing. The pivot, be-tween the moving point
assembly, and the closure rails, is tenuous at best. We solder a jumper
across this trouble spot. If you have questions, call or EMAIL us at
ros310@hotmail.com. We are always happy to help anyone - Customer or
not!
Did you know that you must wire the frogs of power-routing turnouts? Relying
on the points to switch electrical power is guaranteed to create problems.
Do you use separate Command Control track power supplies for separate
track sections? All electronic, automatic resetting circuit breakers are
available and inexpensive.
