1 1/3 Cups of packed brown sugar 3/4 Cups of margarine or butter softened 1 teaspoon of vanilla 2 eggs 2 1/4 Cups of all purpose flour 1 Cup of M&M's plain chocolate candies 1/2 Cup of chopped nuts (your preference here) 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1/2 teaspoon of salt Heat your over to 350 degrees. Mix brown sugar, margarine, vanilla and eggs in a large bowl until well belnded. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 3 inches apart onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Press 3 or 4 additional candies in each cookie if desired. Bake until light brown (10 to 12 minutes). Cool slightly, and remove to a wire rack or plate. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
1 1/2 pounds of taro, peeled and cut into small pieces 2 eggs 1 small diced onion 2 tablespoons of flour 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder Satl and pepper to taste cooking Oil Cook taro lightly in salted water until just about tender. Drain and place them in a bowl and Mash like ordinary potatoes. Mix in the flour, onions, eggs, salt, pepper and baking powder. Drop spoonfuls of taro in the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Dip the spoon in the hot oil each time in order to make sure the taro does not stick to the spoon. Place on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
