Miami

Miami is truly a unique experience to say the least. Miami is diverse in ethnicity and cultures, but definately has that Cuban flare anywhere you go. I chose Miami as one of my picks as it offers those who enjoy the "wild side" and those who seek a quiet time on the beach both a domain for their enjoyment. There are lots of things to do in the Miami Area. First of all, Bayside Marketplace is in downtown Miami. It is right on the water and has one of the most beautiful water settings in the world. It overlooks the bay and the Port Of Miami as you stand looking at the Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines off in the distance sitting at the main port. You can sip on latte, cool drinks and great food. It contains lots of unique shopping and is really enjoyable. When your done, you can go down to the 112 Causeway and cruise alongside the cruise ships that are preparing to go to the Carribean. Then you arrive at South Beach. What can I say about South Beach? It is a unique place which is full of interesting and unique individuals and those who like the nightlife. South Beach is not for children so if you have kids I would advise going to Crandon's Beaches or Key Biscayne. Key Biscayne State Park is located at the end of the island and can be reached by taking the Rickenbokker Causeway toll bridge. It is the home of one of the best lighthouses in the state: Cape Florida. The beaches are fairly nice and the water is gorgeous and clear but the sand on the beaches leaves something to be desired. There is also the art deco district where you can see all of the beautifully decorated buildings, which by the way is a real treat. Now if your not tired after all that there is so much more. As you cruise the Miami metro area you can visit the Miami Seaquarium in Key Biscayne. Located here is the Coral Castle, which is considered to be one of the greatest mysteries on earth. If you would like more information about it you can view the page on my website. There is also the Miami Zoo and much much more. Miami is a good place for vacation but I will warn you that traffic at times can be terrible and a map of the area is your best friend. On a scale of 1-10 I give Miami an 8 the upsides are that there is a lot to do, also there is a good climate all year and lots of great flare that only Miami can offer. The downsides are traffic, getting lost easy, and somtimes not all places are for children.
