Well to make a long story short, the first time I took her out I raised the Centerboard and started to take on water.

It stopped when I lowered the centerboard but I am not sure about how this should work. Thanks, Ray

Subject: Re: 27 "Centerboard"

Ray, Have owned and sailed many Irwin ctbd boats including the 27s and have never seen this problem. Seems, however, that leak would have to be at the stuffing box (where your delrin rod slides through). Possibly an adjustment to the packing nut is in order, or your connecting cable is too short, causing a pull against the stuffing box when you raise the board, which could pull the rubber hose connection slightly open, allowing a leak. Hopefully you have already checked your hose connections.
