Leadline Aside
-Grace Getz

Elizabeth Getz of Chulota, Florida showed Notfield Don Dancer leadline at the Citrus Cup in a nineteenth centurey antique Virginia Plantation side saddle with original canvas skirting owned by Lora Dunlap, of Lake Mary, Florida.

This beautifully carved decorated side saddle dates from the 1840's and is in museum quality condition with its original English stly stirrup and its original hand embroider canvas saddle skirt in red yarn. The offset back girth counterbalances the rider aside.

Lora's parents purchased this side saddle for her over twenty years ago. This year's Citrus Cup was the first time her dad, Bill Dunlap, and Lora watched the saddle enter the show ring.

Notfield Don Dancer is the namesake, of course for the Notfield Don Dancer Perpetual Trophy for Classic Pleasure Driving and was a former Grand National Champion Junior Horse for Classic Pleasure Under Saddle. Owned by the Getz family, He was shown in dressage and carriage classes as well as leadline at the 1998 Citrus Cup.

The groom dressed in derby, white sock tie, and formal groom's coat is Elizabeth's daddy, David Getz, of Chuluota, Florida.
