Is Evolution a Religion?

A common statement I hear from creationists is "Evolution has no proof, so it's a faith, which makes it a religion!". There are quite a few things wrong there, let's look.

I actually love this statement for one reason. They say in their statement for the Bible that religions offer no proof, so they just ruined their own arguement.

Saying that evolution is a religion makes as much sense as calling a rock an animal. Only if evolution pointed towards a divine being, had rituals of worship, and had a group of people doing these rituals could it be, by definition, a religion.

Third there is a lot of proof for macro evolution, ranging from obsolete parts in humans, to signs of hind legs in sea creatures. But that has nothing to do with religion.
