On occasion I get letters from a creationist's news group, and I don't think I'll ever stop being amazed at the attempted brainwashing.

In one letter, this guy tried his best to make science look stupid. In his letter of errors and misrepresentations he said "C14 Radiocarbon dating is very very wrong, and this is what paleontology bases all of it's data on"

Well, he was partly right on this one, C14 radiocarbon is wrong. C14 was inaccurate because it often dated fungus or other growths on the actual object that they are trying to date. This would cause things to date about 500-1000 years younger than they actually are. After discovering this problem, paleontologists changed gears and dropped C14 dating in favor of AMS (Accelerated Mass Spectometry) dating. This has been proven accurate. Yet for some reason creationists forget to tell people about that.

As I read more, I read that "paleontology dates in circles, they claim they know the age of a rock by the age of a fossil in the rock, yet they also claim that they know the age of the fossil from the age of the rock that it's in".

In reality, paleontologists date rocks and fossils with AMS. What is really funny is the creationists say this about paleontology to disprove it, yet this is their position on everything. It's from the Bible, so it's correct, the bible is correct because it's God's word, God's in the Bible so he exists and it says that's how it's created, and it's correct because it's in the Bible. Talk about "reasoning" in circles.
