Signs of Evolution in the Human Body

Although creationists like to say that we are the same as the very first humans to be created by God, there are some signs that we are a changing being. I cannot go into everything about us that points to evolution, but I will tell you some main ones, and leave it up to you to learn about more if you are interested.

The most obvious, and well known sign of evolution in us is of course our tailbone. For those who don't know about this, find a diagram of the human skeleton. Now take a look at the spine, it ends with a bone called the coccyx, or as some call it, the tailbone. Now if you take a good look at your butt, you will see that you have no tail. Now, luckily the coccyx does have it's uses now, such as making it easier to sit. But it is odd, to have a bone which so much resembles a tail, for a being that never had a tail. Or did we?

Now if we take a good look at our body, we can see many things that would show us that we are a work in progress. Here are some things that you may have never thought about.

The woman's hips are too small to allow a baby to fully form. When we are born, our brains are months away from being fully formed. This tells me that we could not have been created in a perfect God's image. Why would he have screwed up so badly?

We have tiny muscles in our head and ears that seem to be there for the purpose of making our ears move like a cats. The problem is that there are no nerves going to them. Are these muscles from a time where we had ears that could move all around so we could hunt better? Or are we going to have ears that can move around sometime in the future?

Ever wonder why we have an appendix? What does it actually do other than get infected, burst, and kill us? Maybe it had a purpose, possibly the remains of a gizzard? Who knows? Maybe years and years from now humans will have some organ there that will be very helpful.

Now for a part I have gotten a lot of noise for, and some people try to twist it around to make me sound racist, but I'm not. There are a few things that we share with chimpanzees. First off is that we share over 98% of our genetic make up with chimps. This means chimps are closer to humans in genetic make up than any other primates on earth.

This is the part I get noise for. There is a part of the skull called a simean shelf, it's found only in african skulls and in chimpanzee skulls. This is not my attempt to say that africans are less evolved, nor am I calling them animals. I am only pointing out a link between ape and man.

Another thing that is very interesting is that until the third trimester, it is impossible to tell a human fetus from a chimp fetus.

Signs from the Sea

Whales and dolphins have a very odd trait. Neither one can live on land, but neither one can survive in water. This tells me that they are somewhere in between their original form, and what they are going to be. Why would an animal be created where it has to stay in the water, but has to breathe air? That sounds like a cruel joke to me.

Some whale skeletons also have signs of legs. Whether or not these are legs of the past, or legs of the future, is simply unknown.

There are also crabs on Christmas Island that live on land, but have gills that they do not use.

There are also fish that are found in places that never see light, both in bodies of water in caverns, and in the depths of the oceans that have no eyes. They have adapted so much to an enviroment with no light that they have no eyes.
There are many, many more signs around us, you just have to look, and you will see that evolution does exist.
