Biblical Contradictions

There are a great many contradictions in the Holy Bible (any version) and the teachings contained within it's pages. The most common one being the old "eye for an eye" law vs. Jesus Christ's teachings of "turn the other cheek". these are more commonly missed ones, Enjoy!

New Contradictions
1 Genesis 2:16-17- And the Lord God commanded the man saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of for the day you eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die

In Genesis 3:12 Adam and Eve fess up to eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil

In Genesis 5:5 Adam dies of the ripe old age of 930.
Ezra 2:6- The Children of Pahathmoab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab two thousand eight hundred and twelve

Nehemiah 7:11- The Children of Pahathmoab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab two thousand eight hundred and eighteen
End of new contradictions
1 Kings 15:33- In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah became king over all Israel in Tirzah and reigned twenty-four years (in 1 Kings 16:6 it states Baasha died to end his reign, you can research it, but I just didn't want to type out 2 pages). 3 years of Asa + 24 years of Baasha's reign= Baasha dying in the 27th year of Asa king of Judah

2 Chronicles 16:1- in the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa,Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah and built Ramah, that he might none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. (Baasha came against Judah 9 years after his death.)
2 Samuel 8:4- David took from him one thousand chariots, seven hundred horsemen and twenty thousand foot soldiers. Also David hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots.

1 Chronicles 18:4- David took from him one thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen and twenty thousand foot soldiers. Also David hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots.
1 Chronicles 21:12- 'either three years of famine or, three months to be defeated by your foes with the sword of your enemies overtaking you, or else for three days the sword of the Lord-the plague in the land, with the angel of the lord destroying all the territory of Isreal.' Now consider what answer I should take to Him who sent me."

2 Samuel 24:13- So Gad came to David and told him; and he said to him, "Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or shall you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days of plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I should take back to Him who sent me."
Deuteronomy 2:19- 'And when you come near the people of Ammon, do not harass them or meddle with them, for I will not give you any of the land of the people of Ammon as a possession, because I have given it to the descendents of Lot as a possession.'" (NOTE: This passage agrees with Deuteronomy 2:37)

Joshua 13:24- Moses also had given an inheritance to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families. 13:25 Their territory was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, which is before Rabbah.
2 Samuel 24:9- Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to the king. And there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valient men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

1 Chronicles 21:5- Then Joab gave the sum of the number of people of David. All Israel had one million one hundred thousand men who drew the sword and Judah had four hundred seventy thousand men who drew the sword.
2 Chronicles 36:9- Jehoiachin was eight years old, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months and ten days. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

2 Kings 24:8- Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother's name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
2 Samuel 10:18- Then the Syrians fled before Israel; and David killed seven hundred charioteers and forty thousand horsemen of the Syrians, and struck Shobach the commander of their army, who died there.

1 Chronicles 19:18- Then the Syrians fled before Israel, and David killed seven thousand charioteers and forty thousand foot soldiers of the Syrians, and Shophach the commander of their army.
1 Kings 7:26- It was a handbreadth thick; it's brim was shaped like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It contained two thousand baths

2 Chronicles 4:5-It was a handbreadth thick; it's brim was shaped like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It contained three thousand baths
2 Samuel 6:23- Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

2 Samuel 21:8- So the king took Armoni and Mephibosheth, the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite;
Genesis 6:3- And the Lord said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years

Genesis 11:11- After he begot Arphaxad, Shem lived five hundred years and begot sons and daughters.

Genesis 11:15- After he begot Eber, Salah lived four hundred and three years and begot sons and daughters.

Genesis 11:17- After he begot Peleg, Eber lived four hundred and thirty years and begot sons and daughters.

Genesis 11:19- After he begot Reu, Peleg lived two hundred and nine years and begot sons and daughters

NOTE: there are four other mentions of people with days greater than "one hundred and twenty years"
2 Chronicles 9:25- Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king of Jerusalem.

1 Kings 4:26- Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots and twelve thousand horsemen.
Isaiah 40:28- Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary, His understanding is unsearchable.

Exodus 31:17- 'It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel;for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.'"
2 Samuel 8:17- Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were the priests; Seraiah was the scribe;

1 Chronicles 18:16- Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were the priests; Shavsha was the scribe;
2 Samuel 8:1- After it came to pass that David attacked the Philistines and subdued them. And David took Metheg Ammah from the hand of the Philistines.

1 Chronicles 18:1- After it came to pass that David attacked the Philistines and subdued them. And David took Gath and it's towns from the hand of the Philistines.
