Monica huddled over Nick. He was passed out cold ontop of the nearby snow bank that she had dragged him too. She obviously couldn't carry him into the house. She would never make it. She knew that the other guys wouldn't be back untill much later. She was stuck. This was her first time in Kentucky, and the only other person who knows his way around is passed out cold right in front of her.
"Nick, come on! Please wake up. I need to know that your ok. This is all my fault. Actually, it's yours. I told you not to get your hat. But, i'm not blaming you. Oh gosh, what the hell am I going to do. Come on Nick, wake up!"
Monica tried to remember all of the first aid classes she learned when she was a girl scout. Some how, they forgot about mentioning how to help a person that has fallen through ice and is now unconciouse. She leaned over Nick's mouth, just to make sure he was breathing....he was.
"Pulse, pulse! He has to have a pulse." She said as she placed her cold fingers on his neck. "Thank god! Jesus, it's cold out here! I'm not going to leave you Nick, just hurry and wake up!"
Twenty minutes had passed. Monica was now, lying next to Nick on the snow bank, trying to keep warm by huddling up close to him. But he was colder then she was. She too, almost fell asleep, but Nick began to move around.
"God, my head! Shit, it's freezing. Ouch, not a good idea to get up that fast. Woah, what the hell am I doing all wet." Nick said as he held onto his dizzy head.
"NICK! Oh my gosh, I'm so glad your alright!" Monica threw her arms around Nick's neck. "I never thought you would wake up! But, you did. How do you feel?"
Nick looked over at his wet Nike hat and everything came back to him. He looked over at the large hole in the ice. He looked at his wet clothing and then looked over at Monica.
"I fell through...How did I get out?" He looked at Monica and she smiled. "You saved my life, Mon! Oh my god, thank you!" Nick then threw his arms around Monica. They held eachother for only a few seconds because Monica couldn't handld being so close to Nick's freezing clothing.
"Nick, come on! Let's get you inside and change your clothes. Here I'll help you in." Monica pulled Nick up slowly. He leaned on Monica to keep his balance and they slowly made their way back into the house. Monica helped Nick upstairs and started the hot shower for him. When she walked back into Nick's room, his shirt was off and he was standing their only in boxers.
"Oh...I...um...I...should..have...knocked." Monica stuttered.
"It's ok. Don't worry about it." Nick sat down and held his head in his hands.
"Nick, are you ok?" Monica said as she sat down next to him on the bed.
"Yeah, it's just. If you weren't their with me tonight. I would have died. Seriously, I wouldn't be here right now. Are you like my guardian angel, or my good luck charm or something?" Nick asked as he ran his hands through his hair.
"No, Nick! I'm not." She laughed lightly. "But, you saved me...twice, if I can recall. Maybe more then that. I care for you, and you needed help. And...I don't think I would be able to live...I mean continue with school if you weren't their to graduate with me." She said.
"I saved you? When did I save you?"
Monica thought it over in her head. "The time that I was attacked in the parking lot. The time I told you about my parents and my little sister. It's so hard for me to talk about that, but you saved me by making me letting my feelings be known. My embarassing plane ride over. You saved me there, too. Maybe your my ange."
"Well, anyone would have done that for you. I did all those things for you because you've become a really great friend to me. Not once have you mentioned my career around me. And do you know how great that is, to not have to talk about your career all the time? It's wonderful. I can be me, Nick Carter. A soon to be 19 year old. Who isn't on stage preforming, right now! I'm living a normal life."
Monica smiled and really appreciated everything Nick was saying to her. "Thanks Nick. Come on, go into the shower and get warmed up. I'll make some hot chocolate for you."

"Come on everyone! We'll be late for Midnight mass if we don't leave now!" Jackie yelled from the stairs.
"We'll be right their mom!" Both Brian and Harold yelled.
All of the guys were dressed up for Christmas Eve. They waited in the living room as the girls finally appeared, walking down the stairs. Nick and Brian's jaws dropped. Steffany was wearing a long black dress with a low neck. Monica was wearing a knee length skirt and a red 3/4 sleeved shirt, with her platforms.
"Aw...you girls look beautiful!" Harold Sr. said.
"Thanks!" They both said. Nick and Brian helped them with their coats and the all left the house in 3 seperate cards.
Monica really enjoyed the mass. It was a change of pace for her. Normally she would go to church with her parents and little sister on christmas eve. But, she hadn't gone since they died. Mainly because she couldn't handle being by herself in church. But now, she was with Brian's parents, Kevin's parents, Nick and Brian. People she had grown to love over the time period, and people that she trusts. Monica felt Nick's hand slip into hers when the minister was talking about losing people that you love. She kept a straight face, but her eyes began to water over. Nick heard her sniffle and his grip on her hand tightened.
"It's ok, Mon! Cry, it's ok. No one is going to judge, or make fun of you. It'll make you feel better, I promise." Nick whispered into her ear.
Monica nodded and smiled over at Nick. He matched her smile with an even bigger one. She noticed for the first time that night how blue Nick's eyes were. How they showed all of his emotions. How she easily got lost inside of them.
