"So will she be able to hear again?" Mrs. Sullivan asked.
"Her ear drums aren't torn completely. I would like to give it at least a week. If I find they aren't healing, then we will go ahead and preform surgery. The surgery should restore most of her hearing." The doctor said positively.
"That's great! Right?" Mr. Sullivan asked.
"Yes! She is just going to have to take it easy. No going underwater. We don't want her ear drums to fill with water." The doctor said.
"What about showering? Can she still do that?" Mrs. Sullivan asked.
"Yes! The only thing she can't do is submerge her ears completely." The doctor said.
Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan stood up and thanked the doctor. Her parents walked into the examining room to find all the guys in their with her. Her parents smiled at all of them. They were glad that her friends were their for her.
"So, what did the doctor say?" Nick asked patiently.
"Good news!" Mrs. Sullivan said.
Nick immediatly began to smile. Jenna watched Nick's facial expression and smiled also. She just assumed Nick was hearing something good.
"The doctor says that if she doesn't heal by herself completely with in a week, then they will do surgery to correct her ear drums. She will regain her hearing!" Mrs. Sullivan said.
YES!! You see, Jenna! I told you so!" Nick said.
Jenna watched Nick's lips move. All she read was 'yes'. She let out a scream of joy, and hugged Nick tightly. This ended up forming into one massive group hug.
********************************
A few days had passed, and Jenna was beginning to give up. She knew that she would regain her hearing, but she was so frustrated with not being able to hear anyting. Nick has been so terrific towards her. He would spend countless hours with her, just keeping her company. However, their wasn't much he could do. He couldn't talk to her and make her laugh! He couldn't sing to her! He couldn't tell her stupid jokes, that Brian had told him! All he could do was sit, hold her hand, and be with her.
"Nick? This must be so boring for you! You don't have to stay. If you want to go to Orlando with the guys, you should go." Jenna said.
She felt bad. Nick would always turn down all of his invites to play basket-ball. She knew that deep down, he wanted to play. But something was keeping him their with her.
"Jenna! I'm not going anywhere!" Nick said.
He laughed as he stopped talking. He knew that she couldn't hear him. He just couldn't wait for her to get the surgery. He couldn't wait for her to hear all of the things he has wanted to say to her. He took her stationary and a pen.
Jenna! I am not going anywhere! What am I supposed to do? Leave MY cute, adorable, brown eyed girl up here in her room alone? No way! You aren't getting rid of me that easily, babe!
Nick gently tossed the stationary over to Jenna. She picked it up and her eyes danced across Nick's words. She smiled and then looked up at him.
"I guess I am one lucky girl, huh? I hope I get better soon. We still have that Halloween party to attend next week!" Jenna said.
Nick smiled as he remembered what Jenna had looked like in her adorable 'Tooth Fairy' gown. He gently took his finger and turned her face to his. She read his lips.
"Oh...Yeah!" Nick said slowly.
Jenna lightly pushed him away, and she laughed. The remainder of the afternoon was spent up in Jenna's room. The two of them popped in all sorts of movies. Jenna watched as Nick shook the bed with his laughter. She silently sighed. She wanted so badly to hear what the TV was saying, so badly to know why Nick was laughing so hard. She just wanted to hear.

The next day Mrs. Sullivan had called the Carter's house. She had asked Jane if she could take care of Jackie while they were at the hospital for the surgery. Jane gladly accepted. Nick and Jenna sat in Nick's living room. They both were playing N64. Jenna actually enjoyed this, she didn't need to hear the sound of her kicking Nick's but. All she had to do was watch the screen and watch his face in utter disbelief.
"I win!" Jenna screeched.
Nick threw down his controller. He looked over at Jenna and saw that her face was glowling because of the georgous smile that she was wearing. Out of no where, he decided to kiss her cheek. Jenna blushed slightly. She gently brushed her hand through Nick's thick blond hair. He grabbed his pen and paper and scibbled something down to her.
"So tomorrow is the big day, huh? You'll finally be able to hear me!"
Jenna read what Nick had wrote. She smiled and then her smile slowly deminished. Nick noticed this, and he gave her a look that said 'what is wrong?'
"I know tomorrow is the day! But, I am just so scared. What if something goes wrong? What if they slip, and ruin my hearing permanantly? What if-" She started, but Nick placed his hand over her mouth and smiled. He shook his head.
"No 'what if's'. Ok? Everyone is going to be their tomorrow. Everything is going to be ok! I promise you." Nick wrote down.
Jenna once again, read Nick's writing. That was all she seemed to do lately, read! She smiled and trusted Nick. They had only been dating for a little over a week. But she has known him longer. So when Nick tells her to trust him, or that everything will be ok. Jenna sincerely believes him. She silently hopes that it always will be like that. That she can always trust, and believe in what he says.
