My name is Tia McFarley, 17 year old graduate from Tampa's Regional Highschool. Not your super smart straight 'A' student, but I manage a straight 'B' 'B+' average. So, I'm not really complainging. I guess I should start by giving you a little background information about myself. I mean, I'm sitting here in the Tampa Airport waiting room, just waiting for Nick and the guys to arrive from their European Tour. Actually, I've been waiting for two hours. It's January now, so the weather in Europe isn't that terrific. They should be landing any second now, but untill they do, I'll help you get to know me!
Well, when you first look at me you'll probably notice my height. I am 5'10. Nick still towers over me. I had long brown hair, but now it is cut to just below my shoulder's with layer's cut in all around. Actually, I think it is a few shades lighter from the sun also. I have brown eyes and a tan complexion, thanks to the beautiful weather down south. Most people don't think I'm 17, the normally go for in my 20's or something. Mainly because of my curvy body. But, nope, i'm really 17. Infact, I just turned it. Some people i've heard refer me as the 'All Around' type of girl. I'm outgoing, sometimes shy, extremely nice, and I love to have fun. I also sing, but am Not a professional singer.
I am an only child and I live with my mother and my grandmother. Basically, their my two bestfriends. They are my life, well them and now, Nick. I'll get to that little part in one second. My father kind of, well, left us when I was really young and I haven't seen him in a long time. I get cards every now and then, but I know who my family is. My mom and my grandma. Some fans get the wrong impression of me, I think. Alot of the time I am with Nick. I'm a supporter, a cheerleader, a campanion, a shoulder (If he ever needs to cry on), I'm player two on Play Station if Brian is out with Cindy (His girlfriend of 2 years). Nick and I are newly starting out. Or should I say, newly starting out in public. I'll admitt, their were times when I was just a 'Friend', or just a 'Fan', to some people that have seen me in pictures. But now, after Brian came out about Cindy, and AJ came out about his girlfriend Becca, Nick decided to tell a magazine about me. And that is how the fan's found out.
Well, your probably wondering when Nick asked me out. Or how he asked me out. Or how we met. I'll get into that right now. As I said, Nick and I are new at this. Infact, he was over seas after the magazine confessing out 'New Relationship' came out. This worried him. He was aware of the fan's reactions to AJ and Brian. He was concerned about me. But, I'm doing ok.
It all started 3 months ago when..........
"Mom, Grandma, this place is georgous! And their is a beautiful view of the lake and the Bay is just down the street! Wow! I'm glad we moved into this house. Even though it's still in the same town!" I said while laughing.
"I know! Isn't it perfect? Well, actually, I bought the house through a married couple who moved out to L.A. The Carter's. Such a nice couple. They've got a large family. Five kids. The oldest one lives just down the street, well he bought his own place actually. His siblings are visiting him. His names Nick, I think. Carter, Nick Carter." My mother said as she began to unwrap the dishes from the newspaper that surrounded them.
"Nick Carter? As in Backstreet Boy? That's cool! Explains why the house is so big." I said while laughing.
My grandma and I had been out in the front of the yard gardening and laying down bricks on the walkway. When my grandmother went in the house to get a glass of water, I noticed five spectator's watching my every move from behind the gate. An iron security gate. I pretended I didn't see them, but that was really hard because they were just standing and staring. Finally, I put down my gardening gloves and walked down the walkway to see if I could help them with something. I had on my Yankees Baseball cap, to keep my long brown hair out of my face during the Florida heat waves. I had dirty knee caps due to the dirt that I was kneeling in, but I didn't care. I pressed walked to the gate and came face to face with a little blonde boy, a pretty blonde girl, two little brunnettes, and a tall blonde wearing a fisherman's cap.
"Uh, hi. Um, can I help you all with anything?" I said while staring at the oldest guy.
"Actually, I was wondering if I could show my siblings the view from the back of this house. Well, show them how it's changed since they've been gone." He said.
"Oh, sure! Well, wait. Actually, I don't no the code for the gate. Darn! My mom didn't give it to me. Let me run and see if my grandma has it." I said while I began to leave.
"WAIT!" He yelled as he punched in some strange code into MY security gate.
I have to admitt, strange, it was very strange. I shook my head, rather being very unsure of what was going on. But, he gave me a sideways smile which was very cute. His siblings followed him in through the opened gate.
"How did you? Were are you? Why did you?" I began. I was only 16 at the time, rather nervous around new people. He just looked at me straight in the eyes. That was all I could see really. His hair was covered.
"We all used to live here, actually. I'm Nick. Nick-" I cut him off.
"Carter? My mom bought this house from your parents." I said with a large smile.
"Yeah! McFarley, right?" He said shaking my hand.
"Tia will be just fine. Tia McFarley."
"That's a really pretty name!" Nick said to me.
Yes, so that was the story on how I met Nick. It's kind of short, and well, it's not your basic run of the mill romance novel. But, it works for me! Since then, I've become close with BJ, as well as the other members of the family. But of course, don't see them much because they are all the way across the States. Mosty when Nick goes to L.A. he takes me along for visits. I stay in the family room.
"ATTENTION! ATTENTION! NOW LANDING, FLIGHT 820." I heard the attendant say over the intercom.
"Finally!" I yelled as I stood up way to excited.
I noticed a few stares coming my way, but I didn't care. I also noticed a few girls, some younger then me, some older, or so they seemed. I began to think maybe they came to catch a glimpse of the Backstreet Boys. But, their weren't to many, so I didn't think security would be a problem. Actually, I've only been dating Nick for a few months now, well like I said before 'Publically'. So, I've never really had a problem with fans recognizing me, untill now.
Well, leave it to the guys to be the last ones off the plane. First class is in the front of the plane, but I guess they wait till everyone is off. Security reasons again, I guess? The life of a BSB, pretty hectic, eh?
That's not Nick, that's not Nick, that's not Nick. I repeated over and over again. That's Brian!
"BRI!" I yelled.
"Tia!" He yelled over to me.
I ran over to him and hugged him. Brian was a great guy. I even got along with his girlfriend, she was super nice also. But, I hardly ever see her anymore. She is buisy with acting and modeling. Next Kevin came out and hugged me, then Howie, then AJ, and I waited and waited....my foot tapping on the floor. I was beginning to think they left Nick in Europe.
"Guys! I have so many things in my hands! You can't even helpt me! How rude! Gee, my bag weighs a ton! Why did you all decide to run off and leave me sleeping on the plane! Gosh! Where is Tia?" Nick asked as he rubbed his eyes.
From what I heard from the guys, Nick always was grouch in the morning. I turned around when I heard his voice and smiled wide. Tears formed in my eyes, but I didn't want to let them fall. To late! Their he was. My boyfriend. For 6 months we've been talking over seas by phone, typing be e-mail, messaging each other by AOL. Now, finally after three months of dating we were face to face again. Well, I know if you do the math it comes out to ten months. But, I say three months of me actually physically seeing Nick. Seeing him in front of me, having him in the same state.
"Hey, you..." I said shyly.
"TIA! Get over here, girl!" Nick said as he dropped his bags and they landed with a thud.
I whiped the tear that fell from my eye and jogged, well sprinted actually, into Nick's open and welcoming arms. He helled me closely and tightly and I heard "Awww" and "Ohhh" coming from the guys and even some of the girls that were their waiting to catch glimpses of the guys. Because I'm only a one or two inches shorter then Nick, my head rested comfortably in the spot between his head and neck.
"Look at you! You cut your hair! And it's kind of lighter, or darker, or, just look at you!" I said while touching his silky blonde hair.
He smiled and the touched my hair. "Look at your hair! Tia, it's beautiful! You cut it, didn't you? You look beautiful!"
I blushed only because that's natural for me when someone gives me compliments. Well, I think it's safe to say that the next thing we did was kiss. Yup, sure did, and it was well deserved to. I guess to the guys it seemed like eternity, but to Nick and I it wasn't that long. Actually, maybe it was. The guys had finished signing autographs and taking some pictures.
"Alright you two! Break it up! Get a room! Let's get a move on!" Brian yelled or interupped I should say.
I turned around, Nick's arms still around my waist. I gave Brian a mean glance, but it was ment in a playful way. Like we always do. Fool around. He gave me a hurt look, and I laughed. I had heard Nick complain when he walked off the plane because his bags were so heavy. So, I offered to help him.
"Want me to carry one of those?" I asked.
"If you want! You don't have to, but if want you can. Not that bag!" He yelled.
I dropped it immediatly. Startled by the fear that was in his voice. I stepped away from the bag, like their was a bomb in it. Nick laughed and picked it up.
"This is the bag for presents. Sorry, didn't mean to yell at you hon! Just, their surprises." He said while winking at me.
"Oh, ok! Well, since you put it that way. I'll take this one. Wait, is this safe?" I asked while joking.
I picked up the bag that Nick always keeps his playstation and discman in. It wasn't to heavy so I picked it up with only a little bit of straining. The six of us walked out to the vallet parking lot and had the vallet's bring out the guys cars. Nick and I rode back to his hardly lived in new house. And the other guys headed back to their own places. I have to admitt, it was great to see Nick home.
