A few days had passed since Madison had gotten all of her belongings back from the car wreck. However, Nick had some how read in her eyes that she did not want that ring gone. He kept it and had Brian take it to the jewlers. He had it placed on a gold chain for Madison to wear around her neck.

"Thanks so much, Brian!" Nick said as he looked at the neckelace.

"Hey, no prob! That is a georgeous ring! How is she doing?" Brian asked.

"She's doing ok. She spoke to my mom on the phone last night. Aaron wanted to talk to her. She's been having these dreams at night. Well, last night she had a dream. She woke up screaming for her mother."

"Oh, god! I remember when Kevin's father died. Kevin slept over one night and he did the same thing. I would expect that for awhile. Or at least untill she get's over it." Brian said sympathetically.

"Yeah..I just wanna do so much to help her out, you know? Their is something about her. She's only a year younger then me, but in a way she seems as though she needs me. Or us."

"Well, I know that AJ, Howie and Kevin are more then willing to help out. LeighAnne is of course willing also."

"Yeah, I know! Thanks again, Brian!"

"Anytime. Call me if you need anything, ok?"

"I will!"

Nick was playing a game of Mario Kart when Madison walked in. She had just been down by the beach. She was in a tankini and she had on cute board shorts to match. She took off her sandals and joined Nick in the livingroom.

"Hi Nick!"

"Oh, hey Madison! How's the water?" He asked.

"Didn't go in." She said simply.

"You didn't? Why not?" He said while pausing the game.

"Promise you won't laugh."

"Yeah, promise!" He said.

"I can't swim." She said while laughing at how stupid she sounded.

"What?" He asked. Nick lived for the water. Hearing that she couldn't swim, saddened him.

"I can't swim. I know that's pathetic. But it's true."

"Well, I'm going to have to teach you then. I mean, you can't be staying here in Florida if you can't swim. I've got jet ski's. Two of them actually. I've got a boat. Scubadiving gear. I NEED to teach you how to swim." Nick said while laughing.

"Ok! I'm all for learning. But, I can't promise I'll learn quickly."

"Ok, deal!" Nick said.

Madison convinced Nick to let her make some of the dinner. She began chopping carrots and Nick was boiling water over the stove. As she was chopping, she looked down at her ring finger and remembered the ring that she had told Nick to get rid of.

"Nick, PLEASE! Get rid of it!"

She looked over at Nick's back and then returned to the carrots. She couldn't believe that she made him get rid of her mother's wedding ring. Probably the only thing of her mom's that held value or memory. Finally, she couldn't think about it anymore. She had to ask Nick if he had really gotten rid of it.

"Nick!" She said while putting down the knife.

"What up?" He said with a goofy grin.

"Remember a few days ago? When I went through all of my stuff and found my mom's ring?"

"Yes, of course I remember."

"Remember how I told, or begged you to get rid of it for me?"

He nodded. "Well, that's my fault. I mean, I regret it now but what can I do. You were just simply doing what I asked." She said sadly.

"Wait, you don't think I got rid of it, do you?" He said shocked.

"Well.....yeah." She said.

He walked over to the desk in the hallway and opened up the drawer. He pulled out a tiny velvet bag and brought it to Madison.

"Look." He said while placing the bag in her hand.

Madison gave him a confused look and then opened the bag. She let the contents fall into the palm of her hand and she saw her mother's diamond ring on a gold chain.

"You did this?" She said quietly.

He nodded.

"For me?"

He nodded again.

"Why?"

"Madison, no matter how upset you were or how sad it made you. I knew you would regret it if you got rid of your own mother's wedding ring. So, I called Brian and the guys went with him. They took it to the jeweler's and he put it on a chain. I figured it would be alot easier for you to have and you could just wear it around your neck." He said while taking the necklace and unclasping it.

"Nick, I don't know what to say."

He picked up her light brown hair and wrapped his arms around her neck to clasp the necklace securly around her.

"Like i've been saying since you got here. You don't have to thank me or anything." He said while smiling.

Madison held the ring part in her hand and just felt her chest rise up and down with her hand over the ring. She wrapped her arms around Nick's shoulders and hugged him. His hands circled around her waste and he hugged her back.

"No matter how many times you've told me you don't wanna hear this. To bad." She got up on her tippy toes she she was really close to his ear. She whispered in it "Thank you"
