Madison,
Meet me down by the shore-line at 7:00. I'm sorry I wasn't home to greet you at the door. But, I was buisy setting up a surprise for you. Now, I know right now, your thinking of what to wear. So, I'll tell you this, go over to the chair by your closet and I pulled out one of my favorite dresses of yours. See you at the shore
Nick.
Madison bit her lower lip and smiled. She truly loved surprises and she truly loved the way her and Nick had grown closer and closer together. She turned to the closet and saw, lying on the chair, was a white, halter dress. The same dress Leighanne insisted upon her buying. She held it up to her and looked into the mirror. Smiling at what she saw, she changed into it immediatly.
"Ok, now I need shoes. Ugh, what to wear on my feet. Oh, wait, I need to paint my toe nails." She looked over to the clock.
"Oh no! I have no time to do that!" She sighed.
Madison rummaged through the closet and pulled out a pair of white platform thong sandals. She fluffed up her hair a little and grabbed her purse. She closed the screen door and headed out towards the shore-line.
As she got closer and closer she noticed the color of the sky. IT was beautiful, turing a pinkish, light orange color. The sun was setting across the ocean and it was georgous. As she squinted from the bright sun, she noticed Nick sitting on a blanket with a basket next to him. Two setting's were set on the blanket and two glasses were filled with sparkling cidar. She took off her sandals and held them in her hands.
"Your amazing Nick."
He turned around and smiled that infamous Carter smile that everyone has grown to love.
"Yeah, I know. But, their's nothing wrong with doing this for a pretty lady." He guided her down to the blanket.
"You put this all together yourself, then?"
"Well, with a little help from Leighanne. She gave me a few hints on what a romantic way to sweep you off your feet would be."
Madison blushed and so did Nick.
"Oh, so, your goal is to sweep me off of my feet then, huh?"
"Yeah, how am I doing?" He said while laughing.
"Exeptionally well." Nick smiled.
By the end of their dinner, Madison had ended up sitting in front of Nick. His arms were draped over her and she was leaning against his chest.
"Madison, do you like it here?" Nick piped up and asked.
She turned around so she was face to face with him.
"Nick, of course I like it here. I love it here."
"I love you." He said quickly.
Madison's eyes grew very wide and her mouth was hung open. She couldn't believe what she had just heard him say.
"What?"
"I love you." He repeated.
"You do?"
"Yes, I do."
"I-I love you also, Nick." SHe blushed while saying this.
"Well, I know we met on, strange terms. I know we haven't known each other for a long period of time, but you've officially grown on me. And, would you, I mean, could you, Madison, would you be my girl?"
"Of course Nick. You are in here. In my heart. How could I pass up an offer like that?"
He leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. She began to shiver. Not really sure if it was from the kiss, or from the sea breeze. He noticed this and wrapped his arms around her tightly.
"So, I guess we've got alot ahead of us, huh?" He asked.
"Guess so. As long as our hearts are in line, we'll adventour through this together." She said as she settled back into his arms, more comfortably.
The two of them sat and just listened to the waves crashing into the shore. Two people, coming together from tragedy, finally realized that they mean more to eachother then they had origionally thought. Madison is no longer afraid to explore new things. Her mother instilled that upon her. And now, she has Nick to teach her how to expand her heart.
