"Madison? Sweety? Give us a hug." Jane said with a smile.
Nick looked over towards Madison and smiled. She walked over to Jane and Bob and hugged them both. She hugged Jane the longest.
"Thank you...." she whispered.
"Please feel free to call us. If you need anything. Promise?" Jane asked.
Madison smiled and felt a tear slip down her cheek. She caught it with her finger and nodded.
"Bye BJ." She said while hugging her.
"Bye, Madi! Call me, ok?"
"I sure will!" She said while smiling.
Aaron and Angel clung to Madison's legs and she giggled and then bent down to engulf them in a large hug.
"Bye, you two. Angel, I can't believe you kept those braids in. When you take them out your gonna have waves."
"Awesome." She said.
"Bye Aaron. Watch over Leslie and Angel, ok?"
"You got it!" Madison kissed Aaron, Angel and Leslie on the cheek and watch the Carter family march down the terminal.
"Well, that's it. Just the two of us." Nick said while placing his arm around Madison.
"Yeah....your family is great, Nick. You know that, right?" She said.
Nick nodded and then led her out to his car.
***************************************************************
Madison decided to take a nap on Nick's couch. While she was sleeping, AJ came over and he and Nick played pool down in the game room.
"Ha! Beat you, yet again." AJ said.
"Yeah, my mind's not all on my game, AJ."
"Carter, when is your mind ever on pool? Hmmm....let me think. Never, cuz you SUCK!" He said while laughing.
"Ha! Ha! And let me get the last....Ha! Out." Nick said sarcastically.
"So, Nick? Tell me. You've got this georgeous girl sleeping on your couch in the livingroom. How far have you gotten with her?" AJ asked.
Nick was getting ready to break another set of balls when AJ asked that question. He was caught off guard and scratched the table.
"WHAT?" He said surprisingly
"Nick? Come on! Madison is beautiful. Nice, curvy." AJ said while winking. "You mean to tell me you haven't slept with her yet?"
Madison began to stir in her sleep. She heard muffled noises coming from the game room. She listened carefully to the two voices.
"No! Madison and I have not slept with each other yet. I mean, yeah, I'd love too, but I've gotta build her trust. Wait! What am I saying? AJ, no offense, but I'm not like you! I only sleep with someone if I love them and if I feel they are special to me." Nick said offending himself.
"Well, is she?"
"Yeah, but I'm only helping her out. That's all. She's just a girl, that without me being here, probably would be insane by now." Nick said.
Madison couldn't believe what she had just heard. What was he saying? That she means nothing to him. All the things he has done for her was out of pitty? She would be nothing without him? She was upset, not mad, upset. She walked up,' softly to her bedroom and started packing her things.
"But, you do like her and you do care for her. Right?" AJ said, seriously.
"Yeah, definatly! I mean, no matter how much responsiblility it was. I knew it would be. But, I wouldn't have had it any other way. I got to know her. Become part of her life. Have her rely on me and that's awesome. It's undescribable."
Nick had continued to say all these nice things. However, all Madison heard was the whole thing about her being nothing. Yes, she realised in a way it was true. But, she didn't realise how painfully embarrassing the reality of it was.
