In this part of my webpage I will show you how to make a mid-sized salute with blackpowder. I know many people will say flash is much better, but I'm afraid of flash powder so therefor I get my jollies from bp:) Salutes are illegal in most areas so I would recomend against making this. Salutes can take off your much-liked fingers very quickly! Remember, M-80s where banned for a reason, to keep large crackers away from people who can't use them safely( about 98% of the earth's population:) Salutes can get you ito more trouble than any other type of firework, so be carefull!

STEP ONE:

Get a piece of paper and cut it into a rectangle 2.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches long:

STEP TWO:

Roll the paper on a 1/2 inch dowel rod. Use tape and glue to hold it into place:

STEP THREE:

Wrap the casing with nylon string to make it very strong. Then wrap the casing with more tape.

STEP FOUR:

Get two dowel rods and drill a 1/6 inch hole into the center of each one. This is to make the top plug:

STEP FIVE:

Make the top plug by puting one of the dowel rods into the casig with about a half an inch from to top. Then put the visco fuse wraped in Al foil in the dowed. You didn't dril the hole too deep did you?? Then put some clay into the space and, with the other dowel, rod ram the clay plug.NOTE: make sure the fuse is free inside the dowel rods, you don't want to bend or break it.

STEP SIX:

Next fill your salute with Bp. There is no set amount with this salute, just start small with your first few ones untill you get the feel for them.

STEP SEVEN:

Make a bottom plug of clay and paper towels. Use PVA glue for the endplug.

STEP EIGHT:

LET DRY!!!!!!!! Light fuse and run!!!!!
