How to make good ignitors

As you may can figure out, a rocket motor is useless unless it can be lit. Here I will describe how to make the ignitors I use in my motors. All of my motors are small, thus only needing a small ignitor.

Before you begin you will need to get all of the things you need. Here they are: 18 gauge speeker wire, PVC cement, Blackpowder,

First what you do is strip the speeker wire and seperate the little strands. then cut the strands however long you need them (this varies). Next bend the wire in the shape of a 'V'.

Next pour the PVC cement into a little cup. Then mix in the gunpowder(I haven't figured out the ratios yet) in smal amounts untill the paste is kinda thick but not like bread dough. Be sure to do this out side because the PVC cement smells very bad.

Now dip the wies into the paste, it should stick to the wire. Let these dry and thats it. To get them to work, you must use a 12v. system. I use a Dewalt drill battery and haven't had a missfire yet!
