Part One
"You're on your way? SHIT! I'm not done packing!"
Caitlin ran around her room in a frenzy. The floor was sprawled with shorts, underwear, and various shirts. An open suitcase lay on her bed, already stuffed with wardrobe. A blue knapsack, crammed to full capacity, was propped against her desk.
"Well HURRY IT UP!" her friend, Bree, screamed from the reciever.
"Uh oh. Problemo. I can't close the suitcase," Caitlin murmured.
"Cait, its only four days...take things you'll acutally NEED."
"I know, but you know me...I always have to look my best!"
Bree sighed. "Well, I'm coming over anyway! Maybe I can help you pack...lata!"
"Bye!"
Caitlin threw the phone on her bed and continued stressing on what outfits to single out.
The two 17-year-olds had been friends for only a year, but knew each other inside-out. Bree's well-off grandparents had offered them a stay at their estate in Orlando. When told, the two girls were psyched, and immediately accepted. They would be spending four fun-filled days relaxing in the sun and visiting Disney World for the first time.
Caitlin heard a knock at her door after ten minutes.
"Omigod! It's a mess in here!" Bree exclaimed.
"Yeah, and YOU can help me clean it up!" Caitlin said, making a face.
"Flight's in two hours, bud..." Bree warned.
They attacked the suitcase--Bree pulling out uneeded items as Caitlin watched in reluctance. After that, Bree sat on the suitcase as Caitlin managed to snap it shut.
"Phew, just in time!" Bree said, checking her watch.
Everything was packed into the Jeep Wrangler. Caitlin said goodbyes with her parents, promising to be a "good girl."
They sped off toward the airport.
"Got the tickets?"
"Yep."
"Bring a camera?"
"Yep."
"Bring cash? Credit Cards?"
"Yep."
Bree was very much a worrier. She was an attractive brown-haired, hazel-eyed girl with an air of sophistication. Caitlin was her opposite--occasionally immature, carefree, and adorably blonde with brown eyes. They say opposites attract!
"You can change the station if you want."
Caitlin gladly turned the dial. She hated country. She stopped at a Backstreet Boys song, "I'll Never Break Your Heart."
"Eee! I love this song!" she chirped. "They're my favorite band!"
"I liked their other song, better," Bree said, pausing thoughtfully. "It was called 'Everybody,' right?"
"Yeah, I liked that song too!"
Caitlin sang along with the music, shifting in her seat from side to side. Bree occasionally hummed a few parts, not particularly familiar with the lyrics.
They soon arrived at the airport and parked. They had only thirty minutes till departure.
After dragging their luggage across the lot and through the doors, they found the Delta counter and stood in line.
"Um, Bree? This is the line for First-class passengers only."
Bree turned and stared at Caitlin.
"You didn't know?"
"Know what?"
"CAITLIN! We have First-class tickets!"
Caitlin's mouth dropped open. "We....we do?"
Bree could only shake her head and laugh. "Check your tickets."
Caitlin did, and shrieked, jumping up and down with excitement. "I can't believe this!"
"You are such an airhead, Cait."
"You are such a buttmunch, Bree."
It was their turn, and they got their tickets processed and ran like mad toward Terminal A.
"Gate 24 A...24 A..."
"No wait. Didn't it say 21 A?"
They lurched to a stop and re-checked their tickets.
"24 A, Cait. It says right here."
"Oops."
They sped off again, almost running over two little kids and an elder couple.
"SORRY!" Caitlin screamed over her shoulder. Bree slapped her hand to her face and continued running.
They finally reached their gate--24 A. It had already begun boarding.
"Ooh, I love airplanes!" Caitlin said as they made their way through the corridor.
The sound of air pressure whirled around their ears as they entered the huge 747.
"I hate airplanes," Bree muttered.
Flight attendants with huge, fake smiles plastered on their faces helped them to their seats. It wasn't too hard to find--they were in row 5.
"Yay! I get the window seat!" Caitlin exclaimed, acting like she was three-years old again.
"Sure," Bree said flatly.
"Oh, poor Bree!" Caitlin frowned. "You took those sleeping pills, so you should be alright."
Bree just sighed and put the air-sickness bag closer to her reach.
They settled down during the wait for launch and got out magazines and Discmans. They were well-prepared for the four-hour-flight. Caitlin popped in her Backstreet Boys CD.
She had already gone through half of the CD and they STILL had not taken off.
"Gawd, what is wrong?" Bree asked impatiently.
They suddenly heard static in the speakers.
"Hello, this is your Captain speaking. We're sorry about the delay...apparently we are being held up for an undisclosed reason. Please bare with us. Thank you for flying Delta."
The static crackled to a stop.
"I hate airplanes." Bree repeated.
They suddenly heard a commotion from upfront.
"Ooh...I think they're cute guys," Caitlin whispered. The two of them strained their necks
to get a better view.
Caitlin was right. They were cute. All five of them.
Part Two
They heard a sudden blare of cell phones. A man and a woman, dressed professionally, were jabbering away, carrying various planners and leather carry-ons. The group of guys were right behind them.
"Damn, we hold up a whole plane 'cause Bone can't get through security with all that jewlry of his," came muffled voice.
The guys slowly made their way up the aisle. Caitlin quickly buried her face into her magazine so she wouldn't look so obvious. She turned down her Discman, though, catching parts of their conversation.
"D, what'd you put in here? Weights?"
"OUCH! Watch it, Nicky!"
"You're so slow, Kev..."
"Where the heck are the seats?"
"Right here."
Caitlin heard the guys shuffle near them. She saw the shadow of a tall, built figure open the compartment above and shove a bunch of bags in. She caught a whiff of the cologne he was wearing. He smelled GOOD.
Caitlin nudged Bree, who had been silent the whole time.
"Psst..Bree..what do they look like?"
Bree didn't answer.
"Bree?"
Caitlin looked up at her friend. Bree was wide-eyed and gaping. Caitlin quickly turned to check out the guys.
She was staring at the actual Backstreet Boys.
"Oh....my....Lord..."
Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean were settling in the seats right in front of them. Howie was bunching up a couple of pillows before sitting down. He glanced up and saw the two girls gawking at him.
"Hi!" he said, flashing a perfect smile. His hair was let loose, but each strand was meticulously combed to perfection.
The girls took a moment to recover.
"H-hii!!"
"How are you, today?" he asked politely.
"Fine, thanks," Bree managed. Caitlin was still in shock.
A.J. laughed next to him.
"I'm guessing you recognize who we are..."
"Well YEAH!" Bree exclaimed. She blushed from her over-enthusiasm and tried the flip-the-hair-back manuever to cover for it.
"Caitlin's a huge fan of yours..right Cait?"
"Y-yeah..."
She was totally drooling over A.J. He looked adroble in his white Addidas cap. A.J. slid his shades down to catch a glimpse of Caitlin and give her a wink. Caitlin brightly smiled back.
Bree, meanwhile, was gazing at the built guy in the seat to her immediate right. He was going to be sitting next to the man and the woman (which the girls figured to be their managers, Johnny and Donna). It was Kevin Richardson. He was bending over and stuffing something under his seat. Bree's mouth dropped open as she got a great view of Kevin's butt.
Caitlin noticed her friend's silence and turned to see her studying Kevin's rear.
"BREE!" she cried.
Bree quickly snapped her head around. A.J. and Howie were cracking up. Kevin turned around to see what was so funny. He saw Caitlin and Bree and smiled warmly. The girls smiled back, absently gazing into his deep green eyes.
"Do you have my Sega, Kev?"
The girls looked up to see Nick Carter, that darling, towheaded 18-year-old. Of course, they couldn't see his blonde locks because of the backwards cap he wore.
"Yeah, right here," Kevin said, reaching in yet another bag and pulling out a couple of Segas with a bunch of cables.
"Thanks."
Nick's blue eyes rested on Caitlin and Bree.
"Hey! Wassup?"
"Nuthin much," they replied simultaneously, huge grins on their faces.
Brian Littrell, the sweet country boy (and cousin of Kevin), came up behind him.
"Got my Sega too, Frack?"
"Yup."
A pretty flight attendant approached them and flashed a gentle smile.
"The plane is about ready for take-off, so if you could please take your seats and fasten your safety-belts?"
Kevin nodded. "Yeah, come on, guys. We've held up the plane enough."
They hustled into their seats. Nick and Brian sat in the ones in front of Howie and A.J.
They were making an awful lot of commotion.
"Ow! Stop!"
"Where's mine at?! Are you sitting on it?"
"Get up! Wait--"
The flight attendant (once again) came up to them, knelt next to Nick, and asked if he needed help putting on his belt. It was incredible because she spoke to him as if he were a little child. Nick turned bright red as she clipped the belt in place for him.
"Would you like help with anything else?"
"No, thanks."
She patted his shoulder, giving him a reassuring smile, and walked away.
The rest of the guys exploded with laughter. A.J. was wheezing. The girls were trying to suppress their giggles.
"Need help with your belt, little boy?" they heard Brian taunt.
"Oh, just shadup." Nick said flatly.
"No, I think he needs help with his OTHER belt," A.J. supplied.
They saw Nick's hand go up and aim for A.J.'s head. It cause another round of laughs as A.J. ducked and tried blocking himself with Howie. The girls realized they were just a normal bunch of goofballs.
After a few minutes, they felt the roar of the engines and the vibration of the plane on the runway.
"Oh God.." Bree muttered.
Caitlin squeezed her hand. Kevin noticed the fear on her face.
"It'll be okay," he reassured, his deep voice rolling in her ear.
She weakly nodded.
The plane finally glided into the air. Blue sky and white clouds appeared outside their windows. The noise of the pressure had become very loud, and Bree felt her ears pop. The plane was still at an angle. Kevin offered his hand. She immediately clutched it.
A few minutes later, they heard a ding and the speakers came on.
"Good afternoon, and welcome to Delta airlines, Flight 147, departing from Salt Lake City, Utah, and arriving in Orlando, Florida. The estimated time of travel is four hours and fifteen minutes. The current temperature in Orlando is high in the mid-90s. When the appropriate altitude is reached, you may see the safety-belt sign go off. Thank you for flying Delta, where our goal is to make your flight a safe and enjoyable one."
"See, Bree?" Caitlin said. "Their goal is to make our flight a safe and enjoyable one!"
Bree could do nothing but groan and close her eyes.
Part Three
"You okay?" Kevin asked Bree with concern, still holding her hand.
"Not...really..." Bree mumbled.
A look of panic suddenly appeared in her eyes. Her face turned pale. Kevin knew what was coming and snatched the air-sickness bag, opening it for her. He had been just in time.
"Oh God," Caitlin murmured, turning away.
Kevin held Bree's hair back as she got achingly sick. After she was done, he rubbed her shoulder sympathetically.
"Thanks," Bree whispered, weakly sinking back into some pillows Caitlin had supplied.
There was a soft ding as the safety-belt sign went off.
"Excuse me, Miss," Kevin motioned to a flight attendant. He handed her the bag. "Would you mind getting her some hot tea and a blanket?"
"Of course," she said, quickly rushing off.
"You're really too kind," Bree said.
"I just wish I could do something more for you," Kevin replied thoughtfully.
"Psst, Kev, you're makin me look bad!" Caitlin hushed.
Kevin and Bree laughed.
The attendant came back with the blanket and tea. Kevin wrapped the blanket up to her chin and carefully cupped the tea in her hand. She brought it to her lips, sipped, and gave him a smile of gratification. He beamed.
Caitlin heard a piffle noise. She looked in surprise at A.J. A.J. turned around, caught her stare, and laughed.
"I'm shuffling cards," he explained, showing her a deck.
"OH!" Caitlin exclaimed, blushing.
"I need someone to play with me...wanna?"
"I'm not very good at cards..." she admitted. "Why don't you ask Howie?"
A.J. pointed.
Howie was already fast asleep, his head propped on a pillow, leaning against the side. His mouth was wide open and you could almost see drool coming out.
Caitlin clapped her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing. She nudged Bree to look, but Bree didn't notice. She was in a deep conversation with Kevin. They were talking about horseback riding. Bree was an avid rider, as well as Kevin.
Caitlin rolled her eyes.
"How about asking Nick and Brian?"
"They're playin Sega."
"Oh."
"Come on, you can't be that bad. It's Caitlin, right?"
"Yeah. Oh, okay, I'll try!"
A.J. got up from his seat and snapped his fingers in front of Kevin's face.
"Yo, Kev, could ya move over so I can play cards with Caitlin?"
Kevin obediently moved. Caitlin helped Bree up from her seat and next to Kevin. Bree was certainly happy with the change.
Caitlin was, too.
He's so good-looking, she thought, peering at A.J. I wonder if he has a girlfriend...
"Lets start with something easy...Go Fish?" A.J. suggested.
"Sure!" Caitlin laughed.
Five minutes into the game, she started up a conversation.
"So, you guys are heading back to Orlando to rest?"
"Well, yeah, and to record."
"Oh...man, the tour must have been exaughsting.
"Hell yeah, but it's worth it. It's really a bunch of fun."
She eyed her cards and twisted a lock of hair around her finger--VERY flirtatiously.
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
He looked up with surprise, not expecting that question.
"Well..u-uh...yes, in fact, I do."
"Oh," Caitlin said softly, quickly looking down. "Um, so, what's her name?"
"Megan."
"How'd you meet?"
A.J. smiled at the question. "It's kinda funny actually. It was during a stop in our tour. We met at a McDonalds while getting breakfast. They were big fans of us at the time."
"'They'?"
"Oh, yeah, her friends, Jesse and Casey. They're sweet girls, too."
"It must be tough to keep a long-distance relationship."
"Yeah," A.J. sighed. "But we've kept it up for almost a month. I like her so much...I love her, really."
Caitlin nodded, continuing to twist her hair. "Do any of the other guys have girlfriends?"
A.J. paused and put down his cards.
"Nick does...and I have to say Brian sort-of does, but they won't admit anything," he prattled deviously.
"Man, I really didn't expect this," Caitlin said, looking flustered. "I read all over that you guys don't have girlfriends."
A.J. shrugged. "It's part of the business, I'm sad to say. Management tells us not to say anything about having girlfriends. They say it will decrease sales and popularity."
Caitlin looked over at Donna and Johnny. Donna was sleeping, while Johnny was reading some papers.
"That's really unfair to your fans," she said, raising her eyebrows.
"I know, I know...it's hard for us, too." A.J. agreed.
They continued their game of Go Fish without as much enthusiasm. They heard a sudden snort.
It came from Howie.
Everyone turned at the noise, including Bree and Kev. (Bree had ended up snuggled next to Kevin for "warmth.") It was so loud, it had even distracted Nick and Brian. Howie was in his same position, mouth still open, drool still there. But the snoring was amazingly loud.
Nick got up, snickering, and crept next to Howie.
"Nick, don't be mean," A.J. warned, hiding his smile.
Nick motioned for A.J. to be quiet and snuck the package of airline peanuts from his pocket. Brian had crept over, too, and muffled his laughing into his fist.
"Nick, really..." Kevin began, rolling his eyes.
Nick ignored him and opened the package, spilling the peanuts into his palm. Taking one, he delicately placed it on Howie's tongue. It had no effect. Nick looked surprised, and shrugged at B-rok.
"Put more in," he suggested.
Nick added a couple more. Still no effect.
Finally, on the fifth peanut (which rolled deeper into his mouth), Howie woke with surprise, at first gagging on the peanuts and then spitting them out.
Everyone was laughing except him.
"NIIIIIIIICKK!!" he raged.
"I--I just couldn't help myself, D!" Nick squeaked, trying to stop laughing. He blocked himself from Howie's pillow attack and quickly made his way back to his seat, Brian following, still laughing hysterically.
"You guys are so mean," Bree scolded.
"THANK YOU! SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS!" Howie burst.
"I promise not to do it again, D," Nick said sincerely, turning to face him.
"You said that last time."
"This time I mean it!"
Howie rolled his eyes and inclined by procedure.
Part Four
During the next three hours, Bree continued to chat with Kevin, while Caitlin finished up her card game with A.J. and played a little Sega with Nick and Brian. Howie was left alone to go back to sleep.
Bree found herself liking Kevin very much. They had so much in common...
"How old are you?" Bree asked, lifting her head from his shoulder.
"26."
Her mouth dropped open. For some reason she hadn't thought of there being an age gap between them.
"I'm..I'm 17."
"Really? You look older."
"Yeah...a lot of people tell me that. They say I act like it, too."
"You do. You're very mature for your age."
Bree smiled.
"Geez, Kev, at your age you should be--at least--in a steady relationship."
"Well, its kinda hard on the road."
Bree laughed and took his hand.
"I understand...I'm sure you'll find someone soon." She opened his palm and carefully traced his lines with her fingertip.
"You see my future there?" Kevin asked, smiling wryly.
"Mm hmm...Ooh, your love life looks good," Bree murmured.
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah...see? I can tell by this line...right here."
Kevin lowered his head to see for himself. She took this moment and gently kissed him on the cheek. He turned toward her, a surprised, but warm look on his face. Bree blushed, and quickly went back to studying his palm.
Meanwhile, Nick was kicking Caitlin's butt at Sega.
"This game is stupid," Caitlin whined.
"It's only stupid 'cause you're losin...BIG TIME!" Nick cackled.
"Ignore him...he's a sore winner," Brian whispered.
Nick raised his eyebrows. "At least I'm not a sore LOSER...B-rok!!!"
Both Caitlin and Brian shoved him off.
"Hey hey hey now!" Nick warned, adjusting his shirt.
The ding went off again and the safety-belt sign began flashing.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the plane is about to land. Please place trays and seats to their upright positions and fasten your safety-belts."
Everyone returned to their original seats and buckled up. Nick made sure to appropriately fasten his belt this time. The flight attendant noticed, and winked at him. Nick smiled back uneasily. The Boys cracked up again--except for Howie. He was still asleep.
They landed safely. Bree was feeling back-to-normal again. They gathered their belongings and stood in line for the un-boarding.
"You're staying here for four days, right?" Kevin asked Bree during the wait.
"Yeah...lemme write down my number."
She searched her purse for a pen and scrawled it on Kevin's hand.
"Just don't wash your hands," Bree laughed.
"I won't," Kevin reassured.
"Maybe we can all do something," Nick suggested.
"We're goin to Disney World!" Caitlin chirped. "You guys can come with us!"
"Sounds like fun," A.J. grinned.
Howie looked lost.
"D, don't worry, we'll catch you up," Brian said, patting his back.
Howie nodded--still looking tired. Everyone could only laugh.
+++++++++++++++++++
Bree was told by her grandmother that a black Range Rover would be waiting for them outside. A driver would be there to meet them.
At the baggage claim, they said their goodbyes.
"Give me a call, Kev," Bree reminded.
"I promise," Kevin murmured, bending over to give her a hug.
"AWWWW..." everyone cooed...
Except Howie, who looked at the couple in shock.
"They hooked up in a matter of hours?" he asked A.J. in a whisper.
"Guess so!" A.J. replied.
"We'll see you guys lata!" Caitlin said, hugging each of them.
"Aiight! BYE!"
"BUH-BYE!"
Sure enough, there was the posh Range Rover with a well-suited driver leaning against it. He saw the girls and immideately opened the back doors, tilting his hat.
"Good evening, Miss Bree and Miss Caitlin."
"Good evening," Bree replied.
"Woah, it's evening already?" Caitlin exclaimed, checking her watch. It was 6:30.
As he drove off, the driver said, "Your grandmother, Mrs. Woodson, has told me that this vehicle is to remain at your disposal during your stay."
The girls looked at each other in surprise.
"So we can drive it anywhere as we please?" Bree asked.
"Yes, ma'am."
The girls settled back and gazed out the windows.
"Wow. This has GOT to be the luckiest day of my life," Caitlin sighed.
"I know what you mean. We get first class seats, meet the Backstreet Boys, get the Range Rover all to ourselves, and have a trip to Disney World ahead of us."
"I can't believe we met them...you and Kev were getting along great!"
Bree giggled. "He's so cute, and nice, and...amazing!"
"You always hook up with older men," Caitlin observed.
"Guys our age are SO immature," Bree explained, rolling her eyes.
Caitlin smiled, thinking of Nick.
"You were getting along with A.J., weren't you?"
"Well yeah...I asked if they had girlfriends, and he, Nick and Brian--sort-of--all do."
Bree raised her eyebrows.
"Woah. That's unexpected."
"I know," Caitlin frowned. "I really like A.J. It's too bad."
They pulled into a cobbled driveway. A huge black gate was in their way, and opened as they pulled up. A fountain flowed with water in the middle of the driveway. The yard had lush green grass and tons of trees and bushes with flowers in bloom. Ahead, they could see the mansion. It was fully white and country-style. It had huge mahogany front doors.
Caitlin was gaping.
"This place is NICE," she said.
Bree shrugged.
They got out of the car and made their way to the front door. The driver got their luggage.
The doors opened immediately to reaveal Bree's grandmother with a huge smile on her face.
"GRANDMAMA!" Bree shrieked and flung her arms around her.
"Oh, Bree, you've grown SO MUCH!" she exclaimed.
They were let into the house and led to their rooms.
"Grandma, this is Caitlin. Caitlin, this is my grandmother, Mrs. Woodson."
"Nice to meet you," Caitlin said shyly. "I'm so greatful to you for buying my ticket and allowing me to stay here. You have such a lovely estate!"
"Pish-posh, hon. It was our pleasure. If you ever need anything, just let Mr. Woodson and I know."
"Where is Granddaddy anyway?" Bree asked.
"He's out playing golf, if you can believe that," Mrs. Woodson huffed. "I keep telling him it's too much for him at his age, but he won't listen."
"It's after six!"
"The dark doesn't come till 9 o'clock, dear."
They chose their rooms with difficulty. There were so many to chose from, and each had their own beautiful style.
After having dinner, the girls sneaked away to Bree's room to gossip and plan the next day.
"I'll set my alarm clock at nine so we can make it to Disney by eleven." Bree said.
"How long will we be staying?"
"Probably till nighttime...I want to see the fireworks."
"Isn't that in Magic Kingdom? I thought we were going to Epcot!"
"We will...we'll spend half the day at Epcot, and the rest at Magic Kingdom."
"Sounds like too much for one day!"
"Maybe. We can always go there the next day."
The phone suddenly blared.
"I bet it's Kev!" Bree squealed and jumped up to answer it.
Part Five
"Hello?" Bree chirped.
"Hey Bree," said an overwhelmingly syrupy male voice.
"Um...Kev? Is that you?"
"Yes, darling. It's me...your sugar daddy."
"What tha hell?!"
"Want some lovin'?"
"WHO IS THIS?!"
"Why it's me...the Train...CHOO CHOO!!!"
There was a sudden burst of laughter and a bunch of commotion. Bree began to recognize the voice. A second later, a new voice came to the phone.
"Bree? I'm so sorry--these guys are nuts. I just got out of the shower to see them calling your number."
It was the real Kevin. He voice was sweet and very low. Each word was slowly and carefully spoken--with a touch of southern drawl. It made Bree smile and shiver.
In the background, you heard the rest of the Boys chanting "Chigga- chigga- chigga- chigga...I think I can, I think I can!!!" They added a few ballads of the Quad City DJ song.
Bree smirked. "It's not your fault, hon. Who was on the phone? Mr. Half-ass?"
Kevin laughed. "That's Nick, alright."
"What'd she say 'bout me?"
"She called you a half-ass," came Kevin's muffled voice.
"Why that little...gimme that phone!"
Bree rolled her eyes. Caitlin laughed and shook her head.
"Were you talking about Nick?" she asked.
"Yeah. Who else?"
"Bree, you are so ironic! You act like he's more immature than you, but he's a year older!"
"Immaturity doesn't necessariliy have anything to do with age," Bree replied distractedly,
wondering where Kevin had gone. "And even though he's 18, he's the total defenition of 'immature'."
"Okay, whatever. Just don't be mean to Nick anymore."
"Okay, Mummy dearest."
Bree heard a struggle for the phone. There was still obscure laughing and scuffling.
"Nick, just go to the other room."
"But I have a word to say with Miss Smart-Ass Biotch over there!"
"Good Heavens, Nickolas! Such vulgarity!"
The last comment had come from A.J. Bree had to giggle.
Suddenly, Kevin came back to the phone, heaving deep breaths.
"Sorry, again. Now it takes me more time to beat up Nicky 'cause he's grown so much these past few years."
"But sadly, not much in the 'ole noggin."
It was A.J. again.
Nick and A.J. were heard brawling, and Kevin put the phone down to stop them. Brian and Howie apparently weren't doing much except laughing their heads off.
Bree was literally guffawing and managed to repeat the situation to Caitlin. Soon the both of them were holding their stomachs.
"I gotta hear this!" Caitlin wheezed, running out and picking up the phone in her own room.
Kevin came back, sounding irritated. "They are being such a nuisance today."
"I have two little brothers, so I know how you feel," Bree reassured.
"Are you guys still coming to Disney with us?" Caitlin piped.
"Um...well tomorrow's our day off, so sounds good!"
"Are you sure?" Bree asked softly. "You guys need rest."
"We'll be fine...in fact, we were planning to do something like this one last time as a group before separating for home."
"Perfect!"
They discussed further plans. By the time their conversation winded down, it was 12 A.M.
"So we'll meet ya'll at Waffle House around 10?" Bree asked.
"Yeah, thats right," Kevin said.
"I'm worried you guys will be recognized."
"It'll be okay. We'll have caps and shades, and it might seem surprising, but we've taken a trip to Disney not long before, and weren't really noticed."
"Hmm. Well if it gets bad, we'll leave."
"Good plan."
"Okay, sweetie, I better go to bed."
"Right. Don't want to keep you up."
"Bye, Kev."
"Bye, Bree."
++++++++++++++++++++
The alarm clock sounded promptly at 9 o'clock in the morning.
Bree jumped out of bed. She was feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep. She opened the window to catch the morning air and the bright sun. Figuring Caitlin had not bothered to wake up, she went into her room.
Caitlin was comfortably snuggled in the folds of her bed. She must have fallen asleep to her Backstreet Boys CD because her Discman was propped next to her pillow with the CD case nearby.
"Caitlin! Wakey, wakey!"
Caitlin did nothing but tilt her head away from the bright light.
"CAITLIN! Must I remind you that we are meeting the Backstreet Boys today?"
This time she made a gruff noise and stretched.
Bree let out an exasperated sigh. "Well, if THAT didn't motivate you, I don't know what will! By the time I get out of the bathroom, you better be changed, girl!"
++++++++++++++++++++
"Oh fudge-nut...BREEEEE!!!!!"
Bree stomped into Caitlin's room, drying off her hair.
"Oh lookie! You're awake! What's wrong?"
"I didn't pack my favorite khaki shorts!! I WANT MY SHOOORRTTTSSS!!" Caitlin sobbed.
"Good Lord, Cait...here, take mine!"
Bree rummaged through her luggage and threw the khakis at her friend.
"Girls?" came Mrs. Woodson's voice. "You better hurry up...it's 9:30!"
Their heads turned toward the clock in panic.
"I haven't taken my shower!" Caitlin shrieked.
"Oh don't worry...you're perfectly clean! Just spray on some perfume and lets go!!"
By 9:45, they were packed in the Range Rover and speeding out the driveway.
"Got cash?"
"Yep."
"Have the keys?"
"Yeah."
"Bring shades?"
"Mm hmm."
To prove it, Caitlin whipped out her precious Oakleys and put them on, admiring them in the rearview mirror.
"Are you seriously gonna lug that around?" she asked Bree.
Bree glanced at the black knapsack she planned on carrying with her.
"Well, yeah...you know how much I like buying souvenirs. It'll be easy to just pile them in there. Plus I have a lot of necessities. You know...first aid, camera, film, sunblock, hat--"
"Geez, Bree. You and Kev planning on spending the night in Cinderella's Castle?"
Bree was tempted to slap Caitlin, but didn't want to take any chances while handling the Range Rover.
They parked at Waffle House at 10:07. Walking in, the BSB were no where to be seen.
"Hah. And WE were supposed to be the late ones," Caitlin said, taking a seat. She whipped out her makeup and touched up. Bree watched her in awe as she meticulously applied powder. Bree wasn't very into makeup. She rarely used it. Caitlin figured that it was because she didn't need any. Bree denied it, but never took it up.
They sifted through the menu and ordered orange juice. There wasn't much to say, so their eyes wandered through the restaurant.
Business was kind of slow, which was to their luck. The last thing they needed was a crowd of teenage BSB fans. Though they weren't the only teenage girls. Sitting just two seats away were four by themselves. They managed to catch parts of their conversation.
"This was a great idea, Sarah."
"Yeah...I can't wait to see the look on their faces!"
"How long has it been?"
"A month...a whole month."
"Wow, I can't believe you guys have kept it up."
"I love him to death! I could never let him go!"
They heard the girls giggle and "AWW" and start packing up.
"Hmm..how much tip?"
"I dunno...hehe, math isn't my strong point."
"Don't worry about it--lemme just leave three bucks."
"Uh, I need to go to the bathroom."
"Casey, can't you hold it till we get back to Sarah's?"
"Nopey!"
"Aiight, we'll all go."
Bree and Caitlin's eyes followed the girls to the restrooms. They all looked very friendly. One had a perfect figure, long brown hair, and a pleasant face. She was a bit tall, and seemed older than the rest. She was probably around their age. The one that had announced her urgency was racing into the restrooms. She was cute with huge blue eyes. The other two had pretty smiles and were laughing at their friend. They all seemed very close and good-humored.
"I don't think we'll have to worry about them," Bree observed.
"Yeah, they probably don't even know who the Backstreet Boys are," Caitlin figured.
Suddenly, two cars pulled up into the parking lot. They saw Nick, Brian, and Kevin come out of a Jeep Cherokee, and Howie and A.J. come out of a Lexus Coupe. They were wearing their little disguises, as promised.
Bree smiled happily as she caught eyes with Kevin. Caitlin tried not to laugh.
"Sorry, I couldn't get the guys outta bed," Kevin apologized, giving the girls hugs.
"It's okay. We were a little late, too," Bree reassured.
They squished into the little booth. Caitlin was stuck between Nick and A.J., and certainly didn't mind at all.
"I wouldn't sit so close to Nick, Caitlin," Howie warned. "You might lose an eye."
Nick clutched his fork and gave Caitlin a menacing look. She screamed and got out her butter knife for protection.
Everyone laughed, and ordered their breakfasts.

Casey, Jesse, Megan, and Sarah were still in the bathroom, fixing themselves in the mirror.
Yes. The girls are back.
Casey, Jesse, and Megan had just flown in after recieving a call from Sarah. Sarah was taking a break from her modeling career, and had heard from Donna about the Boys being back in Orlando. She had remembered A.J.'s promise to see Megan when he got the chance, so she dialed her up and invited them all for a stay at her house. The three girls willingly agreed, and here they were. Of course, the Boys had no clue about their little scheme.
"Why were those girls looking at us like that?" Jesse wondered.
"I'm not sure...who cares?" Sarah replied.
"Ready, Case?" Megan asked.
"Yep! Lets go!"
They headed out the bathroom. While exiting the restuarant, Megan heard the weirdest thing. She paused in mid-step.
"Megan, what the hell is wrong with you?" Jesse laughed, pushing her along.
Megan laughed along with her. "I dunno."
They piled in Sarah's car and left.
"What happened, Megs?" Casey asked.
"This will sound so stupid...I thought I heard A.J.'s laugh."
"That doesn't sound stupid. A lot of people have A.J.'s laugh." Sarah commented.
Megan shrugged and settled back into her seat. She didn't care. She'd be seeing him soon, anyway.
A.J. heard a noise that made his back stiffen. He slowly turned his head toward the exit, but saw no one.
"Uh...what's wrong, Bone?" Brian asked, cutting up his waffle.
"N-nothing, really..."
"No, tell us!" Nick prompted, mouth stuffed.
"This will sound really stupid...I thought I heard Megan's laugh."
The Boys started laughing.
"I think you have Megan on the brain, A.J.!" Howie exclaimed.
A.J. chuckled solemnly. "Yeah...maybe."
