Especially Likely Sloth

1. How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?

Especially Likely Sloth was born under a full moon late 1995 but was the culmination of many years of hatred and confusion dwelling within myself. The band was when I, Jason Walton, became possessed by Chriss Cobbb. Chriss was sent from Svenkta. Svenkta is the new version of hell. Hell had to be remade because the earth is now so violent and awful, that hell wasnt so bad anymore. That's where Svenkta comes into play. Satan sent Chriss up to possess a musician so Chriss could preach the hymns of the new hell to the masses through music. Luckily, he picked me. Chriss, in human form is an eight year old retarted boy. Especially Likely Sloth is mainly me channeling Chriss, but I have gained many unnamed helpers in the process of recording the three demos the kult of the Sloth has produced

2. How would you describe your music?

The only way to describe the music is to ask yourself to reach deep down into yourself and find the answer that would describe the music in your own words. Sometimes if I give the answer, the answer would not be so apparent in the question in the first place. Would it not?

3. What are your biggest influences?

When channeling Chriss would have to be Sockeye, Mr. Bungle, Olson, Fossil Fuel, Cave Clown, Microwave, That one band boy in love, Brighter Death Now, Emperor and Yeah

4. Who if any do you consider the bands idols?

Fossil Fuel, the music that food Fortunata and poopy make is absolutely splendid. Also, whoever wrote the Secret World of Alex Mack theme song

5. What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you be doing now?

I really had no choice. I'm glad I'm doing it for the most part but sometimes the stains are annoying and the welts on my head are starting to resemble Ulysses S. Grant. The worst part really is when Chriss decides to surface when I'm in public. Riding the bus to work or whatnot. People have a hard time respecting you when you scream, "I gave chicken to a tittles baar" at the top of your lungs duct tape a box of Kleenexes to your head while doing their acupuncture! Life is rough...

6. What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?

Popular bands? Let's see. Thats hard to say because if you really think about it, it's not really like that. Seriously though, if you look at what you have within those specifications it is not that easy to put off anymore. Popular is just a catch phrase meant for the weak and ill at heart, and that is not me. It would be inn your best interest not to insult me again!

7. How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them!!

Especially Likely Sloth has three song demos released right now. The first "Umbilical Cord Stampede" was a good example of our roots. The songs were simpler and a bit mainstream. We gained quite a following from that demo especially in the junior high school crowd. We seem to be popular with young kids. The second demo was entitled "Under the Rug I Flopped Widely". This demo showed a more nature and advanced Sloth, showcasing a more intelligent with this work and believe it is our fines to date. The third "Greatest Hits in Mime" was just that, our greatest hits done in Mime. All your favorite from the first two demos with a new twist. All are available from my address for $3.00 each or from our label Wheelchair Full of Old Men

8. What does the future hold for the band?

It is hard to say, it is up to Chriss and Satan. I suppose when people start to know about Svenkta the mission of the kult of the Sloth will be accomplished. From the reactions of people so far, I dont see this happening anytime soon

9. If you could play with any band who would it be and why?

Emitt Otter's Jug Band. That Christmas special "Emitt Otter's Jug Band Christmas" was really cool and Emitt was punk! They rocked out on those jugs and I would love to be a part of that. Besides, Emitt would be cool to hold hands with

10. Who writes the majority of the music?

I write the majority of the music. As I said before, it couldnt be done without Chriss. I am not really responsible for this, it is Chriss. The unnamed people that help me, who knows why the hell they do it? I think they are just weird!

11. Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with and why?

Ray Pruitt. We played at the Peach Pitt After Dark and Ray was punk. Donna was really jealous because Ray kept giving me the eye all night and we ended up sleeping together. I wrote the song "Gay as Ray" about that experience. Dillion was into us and stage dove and broke open his head, but it was okay because Kelly licked his wound clean and then gave him a sponge bath back at the old folks home she was renting. It was truly a beautiful night

12. Where did you get the band name from?

Shit! I dont know! Why are you asking me? I had nothing to do with it! This interview is giving me a headache and an upset stomach...

13. Describe what the band is like live?

Especially Likely Sloth is amazing. I bring all my helper with me and we are total onslaught. Usually, I am duct taped to a water cooler with a box Kleenexes taped to my head as well. Confederate hat guy is there, Lortab, and tons more helping me recreate the sloth experience live. We always have a nap time and milk break and I always hand out fishing poles and permission slips for the audience to have their parents sign before they can us again next year. No one is EVER admitting without permission slips. Usually by the end of the show I am bleeding, confederate hat guy is gay, and Kate Dicamillo is crying. Once I got my knee cap blown off by Nick the superintendent at the end of the show. Nick had his shotgun taken away and sloth made the news for that. Now every show Nick shoots me in a different spot. Because of this, I am now in a wheelchair and my skin has turned brown

14. If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?

We are planning an Especially Likely Sloth home video explaining the beginning of Sloth with my possession and the time the jewelry bandits planted those jewels on me. In this video we will include the song "In My Closet" which seems to be everyone's favorite. I'm sure I'll probably be stuck in a closet somewhere with a rototill shoved in my crap and crickets staying with bags. As usual. Of course, if we were to do a video, we would probably film it

15. Are there any touring plans made; if so tell me about them?

Touring we would be rough since we can only play once a year. We dont have any plans to tour ever, but I suppose it would be necessary to tour to spread the word thoroughly. I'm not sure if Confederate Hat guy would be up for touring. He is usually in constant culture shock. Ok, sure we'll tour. Thanks for the offer

16. Where do you think the band will be 20 years from now?

I dont even want to think about that!! I have no idea! Most likely I will be an old man in a wheelchair duct taping myself to water coolers, taping Kleenex boxes to my head, bleeding from my forehead and trying time and again to become one with Larisa Oleynik. Time will csppvv
