1. How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?

Marek and I started the Blood of Christ back 1993, but for a long time and many drummers and various bassists, things werent working. Until my little brother Jason learned to play drums, then Blood of Christ was truly started. We had another guitarist too, Gus and an old singer Jay, but neither of them worked out. I met Conan in like September 96’ and that was it, we just clicked. Everything was perfect. Now we’re trying to find a second guitarist. That’s about it!

2. How would you describe your music?

I wouldnt, I Just let people listen to the disc and see what they say. It is art, and open for interpretations. To me it is brutal and intense, yet atmospheric, different I guess... but my opinion cant really count because I am in the band, and my description would be selfish on my part. So check out.... "A Dream to Remember" and see for yourself!

3. What are your biggest influences?

Slayer. Thats how I learned to play fast, real guitar with anger and aggression. I learned from "Seasons in the Abyss". That band is still amazing, and always will be. After that is Carcass and Morbid Angel, man Morbid Angel are so tight and precise, and so fucking fast, it is unbelievable that they can and do accomplish what they do. Trey Azagthoth is brilliant, man there's nothing that band has done that hasnt been copied. I mean every album they've put out is like a chapter in death metal, for everybody to learn from

4. Who if any do you consider the bands idols?

I’m not sure, isnt that the same as an influence? Well when I was a little younger , like 7 years ago, I wanted to be Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, so Slayer, need I say more

5. What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you be doing now?

I started the band, so nothing made me want to join the band, I just wanted to play, like fast and aggressive music and naturally that was death metal, and I wanted people to like hear my creation! If I was not in Blood Of Christ, I would be... I dont know , I cant picture anything else, man I would be a very bored person. I would just be a bum I guess. Actually I would like to live in Europe and travel through all the European countries, but I would still play guitar, I cant stand not having music around me

6. What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?

I dont know what you mean by really popular but I guess Slayer is popular, and Carcass was and well Morbid Angel and hmmmm... I like My dying Bride, and recently have become interested in Type O Negative and actually I listen to Korn everyday! So I really like them, and those fucking 7 string Universe!! I got to have one! I also listen to Mike Oldfield, mostly his new one "Voyager" and "Songs of Distant Earth" or whatever, he's amazing, like Mozart of the 90's

7. How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them!!

Well, we made two crappy demo's in 1994 to get us started blah blah blah but things really picked up, I mean our style of music talent and creativity when we did "The Lonely Flowers of Autumn" then we made a 7 inch with Torture Records in Italy, it was called "LaSirene Cicatrice", but the guy ripped us off. Then we made "...A Dream to Remember" with Pulverizer Records. Thats it, I guess I can say we are all natural progression from one to the next and it keeps getting more brutal yet atmospheric if you can comprehend that!

8. What does the future hold for the band?

Nothing. We just want to continue playing and recording brutal tunes and playing live. And hopefully people will pick up on it, but if not I will still play for myself

9. If you could play with any band who would it be and why?

If you mean play in another band, I mean I would have liked to jammed with Bill Steer and Carcass when they were together, but or if you play a live show with a band it would be with Morbid Angel and Slayer on the same bill!!!

10. Who writes the majority of the music?

I guess I write the "majority" of it, but we all contribute in one way or another. Obviously, Jason writes all of the drums, so

11. Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with and why?

I guess Obliveon is one of them, they're very cool guys, and very, very tight live. They are a blast!! So are Cryptopsy, very intense live band, especially the drummer, Flo. Hemdale were really cool too, easy to get along with and very funny guys, so it was a fun experience with them

12. Where did you get the band name from?

I cant remember, I thought of it, but I dont know why!

13. Describe what the band is like live?

Intense

14. If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?

I would like to do a video, but not yet, there's no point because we dont have enough fans who would to see it, especially for the cost of making a video. I think we'll leave that stuff to Metallica and Moist

15. Are there any touring plans made; if so tell me about them?

Well not really, we're playing like 15 shows in row with Incantation up here in Ontario and Quebec, but there no real "tours" we dont have the time right now because Jason is still in high school, so we'll have to wait till after he graduates in like a year I guess. But we can do short week long stuff here and there, but nothings planned as of now, except in July 3-8 with Incantation so...

16. Where do you think the band will be 20 years from now?

Nowhere. As if an Atmospheric Death Metal band could last for twenty years, I wish! No, really we'll keep on going as long as we can until Arthritis sets in, I mean I will be 40 in 20 years, as if a forty year old could play death metal! But hey, Slayer guys must be pretty close to forty, and they've also been together for like 15 years right? So who knows! Thanks for the Interview
