Her name is Rei Hino. She lives with her grandfather at the Fire reading Shrine. Rei is training to become a shinto priestess. When she first met Usagi she accidently knocked her out with one of her charms. She and Usagi's friends took care of her until Usagi woke up. Later when Usagi returned to the shrine Luna sensed there was something about her and left behind the Mars Transformation Pen, wich Rei found. After returning to the Shrine Jedite took Rei too the negaverse. There she met up with Sailormoon and Luna told her how to use her transformation pen.
Rei goes to a catholic school and is respected there. Even though she is of a different faith than her school she takes part in the activities, including helping out with a festival. At home Rei dresses in ceremonial robes and helps take of the shrine. She lives with her granfather, who is an old hentai, and Yuuchiro, a young drifter((Rockstar in the dub)) who has a crush on her. Rei also takes care of birds, including her crows Phoebos,and Deimos. She is very spirtual and uses the temple charms to ward of evil. She can also fire read. She uses the fire to learn about people Rei can also sense when evil is near and sometimes have dreams about the near future.
When she is out in the city with her friends, Rei dresses like a typical teenager. She gets along with everybody, except Usagi. Its not because they hate each other. The reason is most likley what Makato said, They are like sisters. Like Usagi she is a big fan of comic books.
She is very different in the Manga. She has a classic beauty that distracted Usagi. She is much more serious than her anime counterpart and stays dressed in her robes unless she is in her school uniform. She is not a big fan of modern things as well as men due to her relationship with her father. She clashes more with Minako than Usagi.
As a fighter she uses the martial arts. She has learned the skills from her grandfather, she also uses her shrine skills in battle, especially her charms,of Course her big attacks are her firey senshi attacks.

Mars Power: Changes into Sailor Mars(beams of light flashes from her pen and rings form around her body. You see her a light flash near her ankles and she makes her pose with a flame behind her.)
Mars Star Power:Changes into Sailor Mars(Her nails sparkle and turn red the same sequence takes place except when she poses the symbol of mars is behind her.)
Mars Crystal Power :Changes into Super Sailor Mars(her symbol fused with a bow in a crystal that flys through the air and lands on her wand, same transformation sequence,it ends with her in front of the cyrstal symbol) her back bow is now longer and he chest bow is a little different. Her bow button is now heart shaped. there is a star on her choker and the last ripple on her sleeves was translucent.

The Eternal Flame
At first I hated her for being mean to Usagi. She actually pinched Ami so she could be leader,but then that scene in the tower and after Mamarou was kidnapped I saw the kindness in her. She does have a lot of talent and dreams and at times she does appear self centered. She did thank Sailormoon for helping her with her Grandpa and she was the first to see the goodness in Catsy.In the S sereies she is constantly worried about the Silence and would spend long hours reading the fire to save them. She is the most spirtual character and even though she is far from being my favorite. I no longer hate her.
